Please Read IMPORTANT INFORMATION about Senior Pet Safety Net pets:

The Senior Pet Safety Net Email is a COURTESY POSTING for senior or special needs dogs or cats who need a home.  This is  a service offered by HWAH to help  senior dogs or cats in need when HWAH is not able to accept them into the HWAH program.

If you have questions about, or an interest in, the featured pet, please contact the person indicated in the Safety Net email.

Safety Net Pets are not HWAH Residents.  Once a Pet becomes a HWAH Resident, our commitment is that they will remain at HWAH for their entire life.  They will not be put up for adoption.

As always we are grateful for your support and your assistance in helping these pets in need by sharing their plight with anyone you feel might be interested.

HWAH truly believes:

"Saving one dog might not change the world.
But, surely for that one dog the world will change forever."

Out In The Cold!  Ralph & Forest Need Warm Homes
RALPH
Ralph and Forest are two very handsome dogs, full of life.  So you might be surprised to hear that they were both strays, emaciated, in desperate need of care when they were rescued by the Gloucester, Virginia animal shelter.

FOREST
Ralph appears to be mostly hound, while Forest looks to be half Beagle and half Basset.

Forest came in with heartworms and an ear infection which is being actively treated by the vet, and blind in one eye that needs ointment each day.  Ralph was extremely underweight when he was rescued and also tested heartworm and parasite positive.
They're both on the mend and looking much better!

These two aren't a "pair" so you could adopt either one or both.  They're both quite laid back and easygoing, good on the leash and submissive.

These two would probably do best in a situation with adults and maybe older children.  They're both gentle companions who seem to get along well with other dogs.

Ralph and Forest probably haven't had an easy life. Imagine how grateful they will be if you could provide a new forever home for either one of them!

RALPH - Hound mix
FOREST - Beagle/Basset mix

AGE:  Roughly 10
GENDER:  Male (neutered)
VACCINATIONS:  Up-to-date

HEALTH ISSUES:  Forest is being actively treated for an ear infection, and is blind in one eye that requires ointment daily.  He is being treated for heartworm.

Ralph is also being treated for heartworm and other parasites.

Ralph and Forest can be adopted together or separately.
