Please Read IMPORTANT INFORMATION about Senior Pet Safety Net pets:

The Senior Pet Safety Net Email is a COURTESY POSTING for senior or special needs dogs or cats who need a home.  This is  a service offered by HWAH to help  senior dogs or cats in need when HWAH is not able to accept them into the HWAH program.

If you have questions about, or an interest in, the featured pet, please contact the person indicated in the Safety Net email.

Safety Net Pets are not HWAH Residents.  Once a Pet becomes a HWAH Resident, our commitment is that they will remain at HWAH for their entire life.  They will not be put up for adoption.

As always we are grateful for your support and your assistance in helping these pets in need by sharing their plight with anyone you feel might be interested.

HWAH truly believes:

"Saving one dog might not change the world.
But, surely for that one dog the world will change forever."

Get Floyd Out Of The Shelter, Please!
Floyd is a beautiful Border Collie who has fallen on very hard luck.  His family has broken up and Floyd is now at the Gloucester County, Virginia shelter.
He is affectionate and loving with the shelter staff, but he's in a bad way because he's vision impaired, a little frightened and confused as to why he doesn't have a real home any more.

Aside from some vision impairment Floyd appears to be in pretty good health for a 13 year old.  There was a fluid-filled cyst that has been examined and aspirated -- no abnormality.  The shelter vet, Dr. Higgins, is taking care of vaccinations and a faint positive test for Lyme disease.  We think Floyd may be housebroken, but it's hard to tell in a shelter situation.

We know this -- although the shelter is doing everything it can to give Floyd the best care possible, they know that what he really needs is a quiet, loving family. Somehow this handsome, friendly guy got cheated out of his happy-ever-after home.  Please share his story and help us find him a new one!

FLOYD
Breed:  Border Collie
Gender:  Male (neutered)
Vaccinations:  Up-to-date
Health issues:  Already treated for a fluid-filled cyst (benign) and a faint positive test for Lyme disease
