Please Read IMPORTANT INFORMATION about Senior Pet Safety Net pets:

The Senior Pet Safety Net Email is a COURTESY POSTING for senior or special needs dogs or cats who need a home.  This is  a service offered by HWAH to help  senior dogs or cats in need when HWAH is not able to accept them into the HWAH program.

If you have questions about, or an interest in, the featured pet, please contact the person indicated in the Safety Net email.

Safety Net Pets are not HWAH Residents.  Once a Pet becomes a HWAH Resident, our commitment is that they will remain at HWAH for their entire life.  They will not be put up for adoption.

As always we are grateful for your support and your assistance in helping these pets in need by sharing their plight with anyone you feel might be interested.

HWAH truly believes:

"Saving one dog might not change the world.
But, surely for that one dog the world will change forever."

Abandoned!  Oscar Deserves Another Chance

Say hello to Oscar, a handsome Terrier mix who wound up at the Giles County Animal Shelter in Virginia through no fault of his own.  His former owner is facing criminal charges for having abandoned his dogs and the rest of his belongings.

For a 12 year old he has lost some of his hearing and vision, and he could have a touch of arthritis. But he appears to be well-housebroken, loves to go for walks and gets along well with the other dogs at the shelter.  He was also happy to be shampooed and brushed!

The shelter has limited resources and so the clock is ticking for poor Oscar -- he needs a new forever home soon!  Let's get the word out.

OSCAR
Breed:  Terrier mix
Age:  12
Gender:  Male (unaltered)
Up-to-date on vaccinations:  No
Health issues:  Hard of hearing, some vision loss, maybe some arthritis
