Please Read IMPORTANT INFORMATION about Senior Pet Safety Net pets:

The Senior Pet Safety Net Email is a COURTESY POSTING for senior or special needs dogs or cats who need a home.  This is  a service offered by HWAH to help  senior dogs or cats in need when HWAH is not able to accept them into the HWAH program.

If you have questions about, or an interest in, the featured pet, please contact the person indicated in the Safety Net email.

Safety Net Pets are not HWAH Residents.  Once a Pet becomes a HWAH Resident, our commitment is that they will remain at HWAH for their entire life.  They will not be put up for adoption.

As always we are grateful for your support and your assistance in helping these pets in need by sharing their plight with anyone you feel might be interested.

HWAH truly believes:

"Saving one dog might not change the world.
But, surely for that one dog the world will change forever."

Military Family Ships Out & The Dogs Can't Go
When you're in the Air Force, orders are orders.  In this case, an upcoming transfer from Bolling Air Force Base in DC to Taiwan is creating a problem for Marpi and Comber.  Marpi is a mixed breed dog adopted in Micronesia -- what's called a "Boonie".  Comber is a mixed breed that the family adopted while living in Nevada.

Both dogs are about twelve years old, and their vet is concerned that these dogs won't survive relocation to Taiwan.  And none
of the family's relatives or friends are in a position to adopt these two.  So there's an outreach under way to find someone to rescue one, or preferably both, of these handsome dogs.

Both dogs were adopted as young puppies, so they've been socialized to get along well with adults, kids, and each other, all their lives.  They look forward to going for a walk each day, or a playful romp in the back yard.  But they're perfectly happy to curl up and snooze the rest of the day.

Comber needs companionship!  He will be your best friend, while Marpi is independent and will seek out a sunny place to sleep indoors or out.  They've been known to get along with relatives' dogs that have come to visit, although Comber has been known to be a little edgy at times with new dogs.

Both dogs are in good health for their age -- Marpi has a bit of hearing loss, and has had tooth decay in the past.  And Comber doesn't enjoy baths.  But they're both well-housebroken.

The overseas assignment is for 3 years, and the family would re-adopt Marpi and Comber at that time if it makes sense.  Whoever steps forward to take in these beautiful dogs will be giving a hard-working Air Force family one less thing to worry about, on its way overseas.

Chasey:  A
Great American Bulldog

Chasey is a gorgeous 80 pound female American Bulldog, sweet and adorable. A great companion, she gets along with everyone -- adults, kids, cats -- not sure about other dogs, since she hasn't had a real close encounter.

Housebroken and otherwise healthy, Chasey has a skin allergy which the owner is treating with grain-free dog food and anti-itch shampoo.  She'll be seeing the vet soon for a checkup.

Adopted in her current home in Pasadena, Maryland 6 months ago, her current family is about to have a new baby, and they're afraid they won't be able to manage the care of a newborn along with Chasey.  Chasey needs a new forever home before the baby comes.  Are you a great American looking for a great American Bulldog?
