Please Read IMPORTANT INFORMATION about Senior Pet Safety Net pets:

The Senior Pet Safety Net Email is a COURTESY POSTING for senior or special needs dogs or cats who need a home.  This is  a service offered by HWAH to help  senior dogs or cats in need when HWAH is not able to accept them into the HWAH program.

If you have questions about, or an interest in, the featured pet, please contact the person indicated in the Safety Net email.

Safety Net Pets are not HWAH Residents.  Once a Pet becomes a HWAH Resident, our commitment is that they will remain at HWAH for their entire life.  They will not be put up for adoption.

As always we are grateful for your support and your assistance in helping these pets in need by sharing their plight with anyone you feel might be interested.

HWAH truly believes:

"Saving one dog might not change the world.
But, surely for that one dog the world will change forever."

How About A Second
Chance For Lindy & Mindy?

Meet Lindy & Mindy, a 10-year old Golden Retriever mix and an 8-year old Lab.  Both females, they've lived together the last 8 years and we hope we can keep them together forever.

Right now, they're together at the Queen Anne's County Animal Welfare League in Queenstown, Maryland.  They were left there, in less than great shape.  Mindy had lost most of her coat because of a flea allergy, and their nails hadn't been cut for some time.  They're now vaccinated, flea-treated and in beautiful condition!

Although Lindy experiences a bit of pain in her hips, it doesn't slow her down a bit.  Both of them are well-housebroken and adore going for walks and hanging out with the play group at the shelter.  They should be great with other dogs or with kids.  (Not sure how they would handle cats.)

Mindy and Lindy are dying for affection.  A shelter is no place for them.  They deserve a second chance at a happy home, together.

Scout:  On The Lookout For A New Home
Here's Scout, a 16 year old female Beagle mix, who certainly doesn't look or act 16.  She'll be up and ready for a walk if you grab the leash.  Then again, she's just fine curled up in your family room or next to her crate.  She's been a loyal, faithful companion to her lifelong owner in Annandale, Virginia.

Unfortunately her owner has passed away, and the late owner's daughter is unable to adopt Scout because of allergy issues at home.  Now we're "Scouting" around for a new forever home.

It shouldn't be hard -- Scout has no health issues to speak of.  The vet says there's a heart murmur and a few fatty deposits, that require no treatment.  She's well-housebroken and comes complete with crate and bedding.  And she gets along well with kids and other dogs.  (Can't say how she would do with cats.)

Will you please be Scout's new forever companion?
