School Safety Newsletter

School Safety Question #1: School Safety

How can I contribute to the overall safety of my school?

Throughout the school year, we'll be sending school safety newsletters.  The first one focuses on general safety measures that all staff should follow.

Are you a safety savvy staff member?
Ask yourself the following questions to find out!

1.  Do I consistently wear my photo ID badge and carry my keys/fob?
2.  Am I familiar with the content in the multi-colored emergency flip charts
that are posted in classrooms and offices?
3.  Do I know the primary and secondary evacuation routes for the main
     classrooms that I work in?
4.  Do I consistently use my Door Blok?
(For specific information, click here: Door Bloks)
5.  Do I keep exterior doors locked and not propped open?
6.  Do I redirect visitors to the office to sign in if they aren't wearing a visitor's
     badge?
7.  Am I ready and knowledgable to help substitute teachers with emergency
     procedures.
8.  Do I report suspicious behavior, observations, or items to the office as soon
     as I notice them?
9.  Do I read the district safety newsletters?

Give yourself a bonus point for the following:
10.  I have downloaded the Crisis Go App to one of my devices.
(This is an optional APP for staff members, for more information,

Thank you for all you do to keep our school community as safe as possible.

Sincerely,
Ingrid Wiemer - Executive Director of Student Services
Conrad Christensen - School Resource Officer
