This bill will allow excessed permanent status teachers, whose most recent performance evaluation is "effective" or higher, to retire under the existing provisions of involuntary retirement.

Are you looking for recognition as an excellent teacher? Are you looking to lead without leaving the classroom?

 

The T3 Initiative:

  • Creates cohorts of highly effective and experienced teachers
  • Trains them to become turnaround teacher leaders
  • Places them in teams in schools where they are needed most
  • Supports them with a school-based coach and a $6000 stipend

T3 is now accepting applications for K-8 positions in these DCPS schools:

WHAT'S HAPPENING IN DCPS
D.C. Council votes to increase funding for summer school

The D.C. Council voted Tuesday to increase funding for summer school and to continue teaching as many city students as possible over the summer.

As part of $100 million in new spending, the 13-member body unanimously agreed to allocate an additional $4 million for summer school, slated to begin in June.
