Keizai Koho Center Teacher Fellowship to Japan

The Japan-America Society of Pennsylvania invites educators to apply for this fully funded summer study program in Japan. 

 

The fellowship is open to middle and high school social studies, economics, or history teachers, as well as district or state-level supervisors.

Tentative Program Dates: June 30 - July 12, 2013
Application Deadline: February 15, 2013

Highlights from Kaya Henderson's Testimony Before 

D.C. Committee on Education

D.C. City Council Committee on Education members were able to probe more deeply into DCPS Chancellor Kaya Henderson's consolidation and reorganization plan that was released last week. The hearing lasted nearly three hours, and each committee council member had their inquiries about how schools in their wards would be affected.  

 

WHAT'S HAPPENING IN DCPS
Task Force to Study New D.C. School Boundaries

A citywide task force will lead the effort to determine new school boundaries and feeder patterns in the District, Chancellor Kaya Henderson said Wednesday.

DCPS will convene the task force next month, Henderson told the D.C. Council's Education Committee in a hearing Wednesday. The task force will gather input from parents and community members before making final recommendations in June.
