Business leaders who have integrated sustainability into everyday operations will share their successes at a special luncheon event presented by the Dayton Regional Green 3 program in cooperation with the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce.
The 90-minute program scheduled for Thursday, June 20, at the Top of the Market (32 Webster St.) will present a panel of speakers whose businesses are green-certified by DRG3 (a local coalition promoting conservation and sustainability in the business community).

Author and preservationist Ron Tanner will talk about how he and his wife purchased a condemned former fraternity house and brought it back to its original Victorian splendor. The free program, From Animal House to Our House: A House Restoration Project, takes place Thursday, June 20, 6:30 p.m. in the Main Library Auditorium.

Dave Isay Coming to Dayton on June 21st.
He is the founder of StoryCorps and the recipient of numerous broadcasting honors, including six Peabody Awards and a MacArthur "Genius" Fellowship. Isay's presentation on the power of listening and the history of StoryCorps begins at 8pm in the Schuster Center's Mathile Theatre. Join in the lobby following the presentation for dessert and a book signing.

 The Dayton World Refugee Celebration will be held Sunday, June 23, 3:00 to 7:00pm at Dayton View Park on N. Broadway Street at Superior Avenue. Dayton City Commissioner Matt Joseph will give a welcoming address. Two officers will be representing the Dayton Police Department. Dayton View Park has a shelter, restrooms, two sets of playground equipment, swings, slides, etc, two basketball courts, and an open field good for kicking around a soccer ball or two.

An initiative to fill downtown storefronts, Activated Spaces, is accepting applications for temporary retail and service businesses to open downtown this fall as part of the fifth phase of its Pop-up Project. The project matches business owners and entrepreneurs with downtown property owners who have first-floor storefront space available for occupancy. The application deadline is 5 p.m. Friday, July 19.

Nominations are now open for the 2013 Access to Justice Awards. The awards will be presented by Legal Aid, nonprofit law firms and partner organization that provide free legal assistance to the poor in civil cases. The deadline for nominations is July 19.
