DAI Mystery

On Tuesday, May 21, The Dayton Art Institute and the Federal Bar Association Dayton Chapter will present  Masterpieces & Mystery: Recovering Art Stolen from Victims of the Holocaust, a talk by noted attorney Raymond Dowd, who has served as trial counsel in several art recovery cases. Pre-talk reception at 5:00 p.m.; talk at 6:00 p.m.

Charlie Taylor, the Mechanician: The Story of the First Airplane Mechanic is Wednesday, 7:00pm at The Engineers Club. He will provide a personal perspective 
on his great grandfather and his legacy working with Orv and Wil Wright.

Green Drinks Dayton on Wednesday, May 22 is heading to the Rumpke Recycling Facility just east of downtown for a tour.  This is your chance to see how your recyclables are collected, sorted, processed, and re-distributed.  After the tour they will gather at Franco's for the usual networking.

Women Wine & Wealth on Wednesday, May 22nd at

CityFolk  

On June 28 - 30, the Cityfolk Festival returns to RiverScape MetroPark. It takes thousands of hours of volunteer time to pull together the three-day celebration of music, dance, culture and the City of Dayton Fireworks display on June 30. Organizers are looking to sign up volunteers.

Dayton Gay Men's Chorus presents Turn it UP

The evening's performance on Saturday, June 1 promises to be an entertaining yet thought-provoking expedition through the Dayton Gay Men's Chorus's ten year journey! From traditional to pop, Cole Porter to boy bands and ABBA, this musical adventure pays tribute to the DGMC's past and opens the door for an exciting future.

Charles Simms Development is planning to build on the success of his Patterson Square community, located at First Street and Patterson Boulevard, with a new development across the street called Patterson Place.

The most recent addition to downtown's restaurant scene is up and running in the Oregon District, Lily's Bistro.  It will be followed by Salar Restaurant and Lounge at the corner of Fifth and Brown which will open at the end of this month and feature world cuisine and hand-crafted cocktails. The owner of Toxic Brew Co., 431 E. Fifth St., also is hoping for a May opening.

Great Dayton Flood Walks continue Fridays of May, 2013 at 7 p.m. in downtown Dayton.  Walks are $10 per person with advance reservations.

Nominate your Champion of Hope in the fight against cancer! Miami Valley Hospital Foundation is accepting nominations for the 2013 Champions of Hope event. This fall, they will honor a cancer survivor, MVH medical professional, caregiver, and a special person of inspiration. The deadline for nominations is June 15.
