Herb Pierson Speaks

After 30 years in management and community organizing, 15 years teaching in Universities and sharing the Unity message, Herb Pierson is at home "on the road again." Herb's enthusiastic style and well considered viewpoints open his audience to their splendor and Grace. Herb helps us feel the God of our Being now and inspires us to recognize God everywhere Present.

Earthcare LogoTruth Talk:   "Lifting The Planet"  This will be an extension of my previous "It's Happenin'...and  We are the Ambassadors" talk.  We will see what Jesus, Buddha, and many other Ascended Masters tell us about why we are here and what we are supposed to do about this life we are given by Grace.   We are the first generation in the history of humanity to see and guide our shift in consciousness which is bringing a better world for all, by all. We are lifting ourselves, each other, and the planet. Now is The Time of Jesus, Buddha, and all ascended Masters.

            The Greatest Game Changer

"When all is said and done, success without happiness is the worst kind of failure." Og Mandino

Sometimes happiness seems to be the most elusive feeling. How can we be happy with all that is happening in our lives, in our country and in the world that causes us to feel helpless, hopeless, unfulfilled, angry, frustrated and confused? It's tough out there...right?

We can feel overwhelmed if we focus our attention 'out there'...if we focus on the stuff that feels beyond our control. When we decide to base our happiness on what others do or don't do...or when we can't be happy until something changes...we give our power to feel happy away to exactly the thing that is causing turmoil in our life.

How can we be happy...now? In a word...GIVE. Yes that's right. If you feel unhappy in any way, the solution is to give...to open up your heart, feel grateful for the abundance in your life and give the greatest gift to the world...YOU!

In their book The Power of Giving, Azim Jamal and Harvey McKinnon say: "The key to the power of giving is to give to your potential". What is your 'giving' potential today? Is it giving vegetables from your garden, a smile, a kind word, a hug, a million dollars, time... is it making a phone call, holding the door open, listening, volunteering, or praying? Do you give to your potential...to the highest level for you? Does what you give come from an open heart, with love?

Love is the greatest 'game changer'...love is what makes the giving so powerful. It is not so much what or how much you give...it is all about how you give that makes the difference. If you want to be successful AND happy...look for ways to give. Open up your awareness for 'giving' possibilities every day. If you want to change your life...give with an open heart. An open heart is one that is grateful, that feels only love and compassion...it is a heart that knows no limits and embraces all possibilities. An open heart knows that there is a way...no matter what the eyes see in the world.

Be a loving giver to life...and you will be happy.

Peace always

Paula

Greetings my Unity Family, I am writing to share some exciting news.  I have been accepted into a 10 month program to receive my certification as a Spiritual Life Coach.  It is through the Institute for Spiritual Development founded by Iyanla Vanzant. Unfortunately, financial aid is not available and I am in need of support in order to meet this financial obligation.  I have created an account on Go Fund Me to campaign for scholarship funds.  Take a look at the link below and support my cause if you can.

FEATURE ARTICLE

Neuro-Affirmations

Mark Waldman and Dr. Andrew Newburg

Hundreds of studies have shown that medition, yoga, mantras, mudras, prayer, and conscious relaxation change the brain in ways that improve health.  The neural circuits affected by each practice are very similar, literally reshaping the way we think, feel, and behave.  But what about affirmations?  It makes sense that they should improve brain function, but there's no direct research to support this assumption.  However, thanks to a forty-year study from Duke University, we know that optimism is associated with a longer life and improved well-being.

Using the core elements gleaned from our meditation studies, we believe that anyone can "reverse engineer" negative thoughts to create neurologically enhancing affirmations.  Here's what we suggest:

1)  Select a positive thought, intention, or goal...in alignment with your deepest values and beliefs...that you want to manifest.

2)  Write down a phrase or word that captures  your intention.  Writing activates unique language and motivational circuits in your brain.

3)  Spend sixty seconds consciously relaxing your body.  yawn, stretch, and breathe slowly through your nose.

4)  Repeat your affirmation over and over, silently and out loud, throughout the day, aiming for twelve to forty minutes of accumulated practice.

In eight weeks, if we scanned your brain, we would probably see significant structural and functional changes.  Anxiety, irritability, and depression can recede, and you may experience less stress an greater confidence.  If you turn your contemplative thought into a melodic chant, with music in the background, additional benefits may be gained.  Adding ritualized movements...with your fingers, hands, arms, or head...may further enhance the power of your meditation.  During the day, if any doubts creep in, increase the frequency and intensity of your neuro-affirmation.  This is the secret for improving your well-being and feeling more positive about your life.
