Rev. Bob Trowbridge Speaks
Bob graduated from San Francisco Theological Seminary in the San Francisco Bay Area and was ordained as a Presbyterian Minister. His ongoing spiritual seeking led him to leave the ministry about four years later. Since that time he has studied many spiritual systems and is a perpetual spiritual seeker. He has been teacher, speaker, workshop leader, and spiritual counselor for over 44 years. His book, The Hidden Meaning of Illness: Disease as a Symbol & Metaphor, was published by the A.R.E. Press. He is currently editor for Southern Lights, the newsletter for the Southeast Region of the A.R.E. He has written
for Venture Inward, Body, Mind, and Spirit and many other publications.
"The 'Hidden' Self" - The self that we know, the self that walks around doing stuff and thinking stuff every day, is a small piece of the whole self. In some ways, spiritual growth is about discovering and exploring these hidden aspects of the self. To become whole (holy) we must find all of our pieces and learn to live from that wholeness.

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only Light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only Love can do that.

Greetings my Unity Family, I am writing to share some exciting news. I have been accepted into a 10 month program to receive my certification as a Spiritual Life Coach. It is through the Institute for Spiritual Development founded by Iyanla Vanzant. Unfortunately, financial aid is not available and I am in need of support in order to meet this financial obligation. I have created an account on Go Fund Me to campaign for scholarship funds. Take a look at the link below and support my cause if you can.

" As long as we believe the cause is outside, we are victims of the world."
Paul Hasselbeck, The Point of Power
THE AMERICAN DREAM
By Peter Weddle, The Global Voice of Quality
The American Dream. While it is a quintessentially American aspiration, each of us has a unique vision of just what it is. For some, the dream is a chance to build a successful business. For others, it's a home of their own. And for still others, it's the opportunity to shop until they drop. As alluring as all of these visions are, however, I would respectfully suggest that they are outcomes of the dream and not the dream, itself. The American Dream is actually a state of mind.
We all know, of course, that the American Dream exists because we live in a nation founded on certain extraordinary principles. Much as we take them for granted, deep down inside, every American knows that they are especially fortunate to live in a land where they are accorded an enduring right to Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. While most of us are very clear about what Life and Liberty mean, however, there is some confusion about the pursuit of Happiness. And it's that misunderstanding which causes us to misperceive the American Dream.
The founding fathers, themselves, inadvertently provoked this situation with their capitalization choices. They used initial caps on Life, Liberty and Happiness, when what they really meant to enshrine was a commitment to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of happiness. In other words, what the American Dream promises is not a right to happiness, but a right to Achieve it on our own.
"Understanding is a fountain of life to those who have it." Proverbs 16:22
"Be miserable. Or motivate yourself. Whatever has to be done, it's always your choice." Wayne Dyer |
