Rev. Denise Creech Speaks
TRUTH TALK:
The Ark of Consciousness. Most of us have heard the story of Noah's Ark as childen, but let us take a look at it again as adults. We have the opportunity to build our own arks. As we build, we incease the ability to ride out any storm that comes our way.
Rev. Creech is an ordained Unity minister and has received her Death and Grief Studies Certificate from the Center for Loss and Life Transition in Fort Collins, CO. Recently, after serving as the Associate Minister at Unity Church of Tidewater for 1 1/2 years, she has returned to her home church, Unity Fellowship Church in Newport News, VA, and is serving as the Assistant Minister and Community Outreach Coordinator. She makes her home in Smithfield, VA, with her husband of 36 years.

MOVING ONWARD AND UPWARD!!
Our long wait is over!! Your Board of Trustees met with Paula Zabkar today. Negotiations are complete and the contract, as amended, has been approved. The contract will be revised, as agreed, and sent to Paula for final approval. She will attend the August Board meeting and officially sign it at that time. Paula will officially begin as our new Spiritual Leader on September 9th, with her first Sunday Service on September 15. This is definitely a time for celebration! The Board now eagerly embraces plans for a "welcome" reception, celebrating our new and bright future with Paula leading the way.
The Board wishes to express its gratitude for those who assisted in the search pocess and, also, to everyone for your patience as we travelled this road together...a door is closing and a new one is opening.
And so it is! | | |

SPECIAL EVENTS

USLC Treasure Map! Following in the vein of Catherine Ponder's treasure mapping, help us celebrate the treasures of USLC and visualize the bountiful prosperity yet to come. In lieu of an actual event on the first Friday in August, the Creativity & Play Ministry director, Robin Johnson, will be creating a collage Treasure Map for USLC.
In order to do this, she needs the visions and goals of all USLC members and friends. Share any words (e.g. love, peace), images :-), or concepts (e.g. hundreds of members) that best represent what you want to see in USLC's future in the way that is easiest for you...via e-mail to reallyveryhappy@gmail.com, snail mail to USLC, or in person at USLC (you can give them to Carla Garcia or Robin Johnson or place them in the Creativity & Play Ministry box in the hospitality area).
Due to the large number of ideas expected, limit submissions to 3-5 per person (extra items will be considered if space is available). Submit your treasures no later than Sunday, August 4
Let's create the brilliant future of USLC! |

FEATURE
FAMILY VISIT
Sometimes "Spiritual Renewal" calls for more involvement than just going within. I am an advocate for going into the Silence (it is a daiy practice for me), but sometimes we need to let the ones we love renew our Spirit. That is just what I did this past week. I spent time with my grandchildren and allowed them to feed me from within...and, Boy...did they do just that. And the best part is they didn't even realize it...they were just being themselves. Jackson, age 5, is getting ready for Kindergarten and is very excited and feeling very grown-up. I got to hear a lot about that. He is his father's (my son) child in that lots of conversations with him surround sports. He was very eager to tell me all about the Atlanta Braves. And with every conversation, my stress was washed away and was replaced with a feeling of renewed love and excitement about life as seen through a child's eyes. Caden, age 3, has the sweetest way of saying "Nana"...everytime "Nana" came fom his mouth, the stress was once again washed away and was replaced with a love felt deeper than words can express. And, then there's Harper...we celebrated her First Birthday while I was there! I got to see her take steps on her own...what a joy that was !! And, well, Harper's smile melts away the most imbedded stress and replaces it with love and hope for the future. And, may I add, she did a lot of smiling!!! The gratitude and love I feel for their paents...my son, Joshua, and his wife, Autumn, once again goes beyond words. Watching them interact with these children filled me with gratitude and the reassurance that I must have done something right. Any past mistakes I may think I have made...they all just washed away. I am so very grateful to have these wonderful Spirits in my life. I came home renewed...with love, excitement for life, hope for the future, and an overflowing sense of wholeness, knowing I am connected to everthing and everyone who is important in my life...and that includes my family at USLC.
