Recycle Plant Fire on April 21, 2013 A very special thanks to the volunteers who responded to the 9:00 PM call out for volunteers to assist at a 3-alarm fire in central Anaheim on Sunday, April 21. Volunteers: Richard Lewis, Samantha Ramirez, Maurice Loucel and Robert Nelson responded quickly and were on hand to assist the department with shuttling foam from Station 1 to the incident scene. Volunteers also assisted with keeping the Rehab area picked up and clean. Your quick response and willingness to serve was appreciated by all.

Look for the Helpers | |
| Fred Rogers: Look for the Helpers |
National Volunteer Week was April 21-27. I wanted to take this opportunity to thank each of you for your dedication to the CERT and RACES program and staying so involved. I wanted to share this video of Fred Rogers who speaks to the need during disasters to look for the helpers as a way to understand and overcome tragedy. Mr. Rogers soft spoken words are eloquent and not only describe first responder personnel such as Fire and Police, but they describe YOU, our volunteers. You have chosen to learn how to take care of yourself, your family and neighbors in times of crisis and I wanted to personally thank you for being a generous and loving Helper!
Sincerely,
Mary Jo Flynn
