Wilderness and Remote First Aid

The Wilderness and Remote First Aid course provides individuals a foundation of first aid knowledge and skills to be able to respond to emergencies and give care in areas that do not have immediate access to an emergency medical services (EMS) response. This includes wilderness and remote environments, as well as urban disasters, such as earthquakes and hurricanes.
This class covers assessment and urgent first aid techniques, but not in-depth CPR. A current CPR certification is a required prerequisite for this course. Participants must be a minimum of 14 years old to register. Wilderness First Aid is a 2-year certification and serves as a Basic First Aid certification as well. Students must complete all 16 hours of the class to be certified. The training will be held at the Oak Canyon Nature Center Saturdays April 20 and 27
from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Class fee is $35.00 payable to the City of Anaheim at the first class.

Prerequisites

Adult CPR/AED You must have a current Adult CPR/AED certification to enroll in this class. A copy of your certification will be required at the first class meeting
Mimimum Age 14 You must be at least 14 years of age by the last class day, April 27, 2013 in order to enroll in the class.
