Calling all Mercy alumnae with expertise in engineering, design, coding and robotics!

Mercy is participating in CREATE-ivity, a new robotics competition for students in grades 6-12 who want to develop engineering skills with a heavy emphasis on design and artistic expression. We are looking for volunteers to mentor our team of students. This would require meeting with the girls after school once a week, competitions in November (scrimmage), January and February, as well as the CREATE U.S. Open Championship April 6-8, 2017.

If you would like to participate with and mentor our current students, please contact Mrs. Kristi Wessling at

Each fall Mercy has a food sale to help fund the Negotiated Tuition Program. The kickoff for this important fundraiser is Thursday, September 22. Red Wheel frozen food provides a variety of items from appetizers to entrees to desserts. New products this year include white chocolate cranberry oatmeal cookie dough, pumpkin pie, and beef enchiladas.  Orders will be due Thursday, October 20, with the pickup of items on Wednesday, November 9. Students will soon have order forms and they will posted also on Mercy's website.
Don't forget our website features stories on how alumnae are making a difference.  New articles are added periodically.  Take a moment to read them at

If you would want to be part of this series, contact Deborah Daley, Communications Director at

Mercy Day will be celebrated on September 23 this year because September 24 is a Saturday.  Help us celebrate this day.

We are introducing the #OMercyDay2016. The O in the hashtag is to represent the Big O, the home of Mercy High. This way our posts won't be mixed with any other people celebrating Mercy Day around the globe.

During the week of Mercy Day, Sept.19-23, we will be using Facebook and Twitter to focus on various Mercy themes.

Monday: Men of Mercy
Tuesday: Teachers of Mercy High
Wednesday: Women of Mercy
Throwback Thursday:  Catherine McAuley
Friday: Friends of Mercy.

Don't forget to tag us with the new hashtag!

If you decide to participate, please post on your personal social media sites, share with us for Mercy's social media sites, and provide pictures and videos to our Communications Director, Deborah Daley at  Let's create a social media trend!

Several weeks ago, we opened the doors to a new year and nearly 370 students who are on their journey from Mercy Girls to Women of Mercy.  It's an electric time with clubs and teams forming and schedules filled homework, quizzes, and tests.
Support from people like you ensures these doors stay open to every girl who wants a Mercy education. But one of our biggest challenges is managing the monthly budget.
This school survives on a combination of tuition and donations. Tuition arrives monthly; donations arrive in spurts. There's the challenge.
We are trying solve this challenge and create a steadier stream of revenue for the students.  We have created a new monthly donor club. We're calling it Mercy x12, or Mx12 for short.

Joining Mx12 is a simple process:
  1.  Click to learn more about Mx12 and how to join.
  2.  Set up your donation amount and the system will do the rest.

If you have additional questions contact Jim Pogge, Vice President for Advancement, at or call him at 402.553.9424.
