FIESTA 2016
We want to again thank the many alumna and their friends that attended this year's FIESTA.  The event raised $288,000 for the Negotiated Tuition Program, providing more girls the opportunity to attend Mercy.

The Mercian
The spring Mercian will be mailed this week so look for it very soon.  Included is an update on FIESTA, some interesting alumnae profiles, alumnae news items and much more.  Make sure to share your news updates with us by contacting Deborah Daley, Communications Director at  daleyd@mercyhigh.org.

Phonathon
As part of our fundraising efforts in support of the Negotiated Tuition Program, each spring we ask parents, alumnae, and friends to support our Phonathon appeal.  Critical to its success are the phone calls that our volunteers make to our constituents.  We need your help in making those calls.  Please note we do not make any cold calls.

This year's theme is Year of Mercy and echoes Pope Francis' appeal that encourages all of us to do something more.  We are looking for volunteers to assist with phone calls April 17-21.  Weekend hours will be early afternoon; weekdays after 5:30 p.m.

If interested please contact Jim Pogge, Vice President for Advancement at  poggej@mercyhigh.org or call him at 402. 553.9424.

Alumnae Features
Our website features stories about our alumnae and how a Mercy education affected their lives.  From women who have started their own businesses, to interesting careers, life-changing stories, the White House and much more.  Take a moment to read them at http://mercyhigh.org/alumnae-features/.

Prayer Circle
You are invited to pray with us for those in the Mercy community, Sisters of Mercy, alumnae, family and friends who are in need of prayers. The Catherine McAuley Prayer Circle meets the second Saturday, September through May, at 9:15 a.m. in the Our Lady of Mercy Chapel.  Our next gathering is April 9. The Prayer Circle prays in song, the reading of intentions and the scriptural Rosary. Coffee and conversation follow the service and participants are reminded to use the East parking lot and entrance.

In the News
Mercy has been in the news quite a bit lately with major stories about FIESTA, our positive school spirit, interesting alumnae and student news in the Omaha World -Herald. Click on the links to see these stories, FIESTA and Spirit.

Mercy students raised $14,000 to build a school in Zambia and to promote educational opportunities for young girls there during Mission Week. Entitled "Love Grows Where Mercy Goes," the week is part of a national effort with Mercy schools throughout the country. The fundraising goal for Mercy was $10,000. This is the highest amount of money ever raised to support Mission Week.

You are invited to a day of prayer and reflection to open the doors of the corporal and spiritual works of mercy - mercy given and mercy received. The circle of Mercy is endless. It is the spirit of Life itself!
