E.L. Haynes and Mary's Center Launch New Partnership

 

The focus on community engagement, known as the Community School Model, is transforming urban education across the country. Thanks to funding from OSSE, E.L. Haynes and Mary's Center have launched a new Community School partnership to support our students. For more, read the article.

On May 14 from 6-8 p.m., join us for our third annual Toast to Transformation in celebration of innovation and impact in education to benefit E.L. Haynes Public Charter School. Hosted by E.L. Haynes at Longview Gallery in Washington, DC, the cocktail reception brings together business and education leaders, dignitaries, and friends of E.L. Haynes to honor S. We are proud to announce that Brittany Wagner-Friel will become our new Elementary School Principal in 2014-2015. She joined E.L. Haynes eight years ago and has served as a teacher and Assistant Principal under Michelle Molitor's leadership. E.L. Haynes Teacher Selected as Award Finalist

 

Teaching Tolerance, a project of the Southern Poverty Law Center, selected U.S. History teacher Barrie Moorman as a national finalist for the 2014 Teaching Tolerance Award for Excellence in Teaching. This biennial award recognizes K-12 educators who demonstrate excellence in their efforts to reduce prejudice, improve intergroup relations, and create an equitable school environment.
