FORGE is a co-sponsor of PrideFest 2013's Health and Wellness Area -- June 7-9, 2013. Every year, we supply booth volunteers with free FORGE-branded T-shirts specific to the booth's theme. We need your help!

FORGE's 2013 booth theme is...

"Do your hugs come with strings attached?"

This phrase is part of a multi-faceted campaign to promote healthy relationships. The phrase can hold many different meanings, which means there are many creative ways of interpreting it and representing it on a T-shirt.

We are accepting T-shirt design submissions that incorporate this phrase and your interpretation of what it means.

Submissions must be received on or before May 13, 2013. <Learn more>

Volunteer with FORGE @ PrideFest

FORGE is again proud to co-sponsor PrideFest's Health and Wellness Section, which provides free booths to LGBT organizations that design engaging activities to help visitors learn about and improve their physical, mental, and relationship health.

We need your help to make this event a success!  We promise you'll have a good time meeting people and contributing, too.  We need volunteers to help staff our booths and hand out our very popular Free Hugs! stickers.  Volunteers will get into the festival grounds for free and will receive a branded FORGE t-shirt in exchange for 2 to 2-1/2 hour volunteer shift.   Sign up for a volunteer shift today! https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/pridefest-2013
May Social Support Meeting
Trans* Pride

Time: 7:30 - 9:00pm
Date:  Saturday, May 25, 2013
Location:  Milwaukee LGBT Community Center
(1110 N. Market Street, 2nd floor, Milwaukee, WI)

Description:
June is LGBT Pride month. For many in the LGBT community, Pride is a very important time of the year, where people gather at PrideFest, companies have LGBT Pride days or events, and even the President makes proclamations and hosts celebratory parties at the White House. Some trans people and loved ones feel excited and positive about Pride, while others may view being trans as not something pride-worthy, or may not want to be out about being trans. Come with your thoughts about if, how, and where trans people and loved ones connect with LGBT Pride.

Open Discussion
April 27, 2013 - 6:00  - 7:15pm
Before every monthly meeting, we devote time to explore the issues you bring in.  During this gently facilitated time, we encourage you to share your experiences and stories, ask questions, seek referrals, gather resources, and connect with others.  All are welcome.  <Learn more>

Give OUT Day

On May 9th, 2013, thousands of people like you are going to show their support for their favorite LGBTQ nonprofit organization during Give OUT Day.  On that day, every donation and donor will go further to help us help support our community.

What is exciting about this day is just how many organizations are participating across the country - including several other LGBTQ organizations here in Wisconsin.  We are everywhere!  We need YOU to join us. It's 24 hours of unprecedented LGBTQ giving-and it's your chance make a real difference, right here in OUR community.

We need you to help us with these three things:
  1. Mark May 9th, 2013, on your calendar and add this giving link. http://www.razoo.com/story/Forge-22

  3. Spread the word!  Forward this email to your family and friends along with a personal note as to why YOU believe in our work, and why they should give on May 9th, 2013.
