What is Green Gold?

It's the dog days of summer, but even with the heat the beach has been beautiful.

We are excited that David Hunter will be here Labor Day weekend to demonstrate etching. Also happy to announce that Debra Keirce will be demonstrating how she creates her art on Nov 7.  You can read her fun article - Behind the Scenes at a Painting Demonstration.

What Is Green Gold?

Yellow, white and rose are the colors of gold that most people are familiar with. But there is another color that is less often seen, it is green.  Green gold, which is really a very subtle green tone tint in yellow gold, is also used in jewelry.

Green gold was used as long ago as 860 BC.  It was called electrum and was a naturally occurring alloy of silver and gold.

Now the metals are mixed in exact measurements to obtain 14kt or 18kt gold designations.
