Happy New Year, Las Lomitas Families! I am extremely excited about the start of the 2015-16 school year and look forward to greeting new and returning students and families. As you are aware, the beginning of school is an exciting time for everyone. Please exercise extra caution and patience at arrival and dismissal as everyone gets used to the "new normal". Buses may be late as routes are ironed out and many parents will be in a rush to get to their next stop. It is important that you remember to be cautious and extend grace. It will help make for a calmer start to the year and a stellar model for all children at Las Lomitas.
Come by and introduce yourself when you have time. There are still so many names and faces that I would like to learn so don't be shy!
Sincerely, Alain Camou

| Ensuring Excellence in Education |
Congratulations, We Did It Again!
Once again, our fabulous community showed its dedication to a superior education for our children. Thanks to your generous contributions, LLEF was able to gift $2.45 million dollars to our school district in June for use this upcoming 2015-16 year. This gift represents 14% of the District's operating budget, constituting the second largest source of funding for our schools.
These essential funds will be used for:
- Maintaining Small Class Sizes
- Enhanced Curriculum- including PE, art, music, science, language, and electives
- Excellence in Education initiatives- including professional development for teachers, technology in the classrooms, piloting innovative STEAM programs
Thanks again for your support. Welcome back to school!
Don't miss out on the last party of the summer!
Have your kids join us for a grade-level party after Meet-the-Teacher this Wednesday. The parties will take place at the Sports House in Redwood City from 11-1.
Every grade level has its own celebration. Reconnect with old friends and make some new ones. Includes lunch for the kids. Drop-off is fine, or stay and visit - the Sports House Grill will be open. Check out your child's grade level party here and buy your tickets now!
Kids shouldn't have all the fun... There are still spots available for a few of the parents-only parties. You could play some tennis or a little Texas Hold 'Em, learn to cook or sit back and relax while someone else does all the work.
Or join us for our adult version of the back-to-school bash with the SXSW party - it's the most fun to be had this side of the Rio Grande!
