Dear Las Lomitas Families, May is here and we are heading into some very busy last few weeks of school! - CAASPP testing began today and continues through May 15th. I am so very proud of our third grade students for putting forth their best effort! I am also very proud of our teachers, Mr. Camou and our tech-support team who spent hours planning and strategizing to make the test administration go smoothly.
- The Dance Festival is May 20th at 9:30. The students are practicing and costumes are under construction. It is sure to be a real treat!
- Open House is May 28th. Cano Hall will be open at 6:30 for the Art Show and classrooms open at 7:00. The students are putting the final touches on published books and works of art.
- Third Grade Field Day is June 10th. Get ready for lots of fun!
During these end-of-year events there will hundreds of people on campus. Please be sure to be courteous to our neighbors and park in designated spaces; do not block driveways! I encourage you to bike or walk to the events if at all possible. Finally, I'd like to take this opportunity to give a big thank you to our yard supervisors: Marie Summers, Allison O'Brien, Grete Santucci, Jessie Phillippe and Maria Melendez. They have done a wonderful job this year supervising lunch and keeping a close eye on your children. If you happen to see them in the hallways during these events, please let them know how much they are appreciated. Until next time, Sue Sartor Principal |
