With the holidays approaching, we wish you all the best for a wonderful holiday season and a happy New Year!

In this issue of the LEIDing Edge, we would like to share a few of our recent projects with our readers. Of particular note, is that LEID Products can upgrade problematic older electronic lockers.

There are many legacy electronic locker systems fielded in government agencies and in the private sector, when they begin failing, finding replacement parts and technical support is difficult at best. At a fraction of the cost of total replacement, LEID can upgrade existing electronic lockers to state-of-the-art electronics with advanced access control and tracking software.

If your company is in need of an upgrade, contact LEID Products for a free evaluation of your legacy electronic lockers.

Best regards,

Key Knowledge Gained from LEID Project: Upgrading Legacy Electronic Locker Systems at Government Agencies
The U.S. Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) and the U.S. Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) recently joined the already long and growing list of military/government agencies that have upgraded to advanced control systems to resolve issues inherent in legacy electronic locker systems. We were recently hired by both the DRTA and DLA to upgrade electronic components and software for electronic lockers. The projects were based on our Access.it Asset Management System, which is able to equip older electronic lockers with new electronic components, controls and software.

Access.it The latest Access.it tracking software tracks all activity, validates entry codes and/or card (badge) and provides secure web-based reports. Users and administrators are able to access and manage lockers through a LCD-keypad and/or card reader interface, or remotely via a remote web-based administration platform. Beyond initial installation and warranty period, LEID Products offers ongoing service contracts for continued support throughout the newly extended life of the equipment.

LEID Products Access.it System Keeping locker hardware and just replacing the electronic control will cost just a fraction of full electronic locker replacement. Access.it provides government and private companies alike with an economical alternative to costly full replacements of older, failing electronic locker systems.

"There are many legacy electronic locker systems fielded in government agencies and in the private sector. When they begin failing, finding replacement parts and technical support is problematic," said Sam Hoff, president, LEID Products. "When DTRA and DLA began experiencing problems they were proactive in finding a viable solution without having to replace everything, our Access.it technology will make their antiquated system function like a brand new installation with more advanced functionality."

If your company is in need of an upgrade, contact LEID Products for a free evaluation of your legacy electronic locker system. We will give you an honest assessment of whether you could benefit from an Access.it upgrade and if that would be possible in your current environment. We also provide contracts for professional support services to maintain new and legacy electronic locker systems.

LEID Access.it Electronic Access Lockers to Store Critical Assets for 161st ARW

We were recently hired to complete a project to remove existing lockers and install LEID's Access.it Asset Management System's electronic access lockers at 161st Air Refueling Wing (ARW). The system will store the flight crew's airman safety bags that contain equipment such as helmet and oxygen gear - including equipment that must be recalibrated in between flights for safety reasons. The Access.it Electronic Access Lockers will save aircrew time while maintaining security of equipment and ensuring squadron "readiness."

The 161st ARW has chosen to replace antiquated storage methods with new technology to enhance productivity. The Access.it Asset Management System is replacing old manual lockers to eliminate the time consuming manual logging it requires of the staff currently. Flight crew safety will be ensured with real-time tracking reports to provide full accountability that equipment has been calibrated and is ready for pickup and use.

The Access.it System is equipped with electronic lockers and a web enabled controller that electronically tracks all activity, validates entry codes and provides secure web-based reports for administrators. Users are able to access and manage the lockers through an LCD-keypad and/or card reader interface. The Access.it System has the capability to be managed on premise or remotely via a web-based administration platform. Beyond initial installation and warranty period, LEID Products offers ongoing service contracts for continued support throughout the newly extended life of the equipment.

"Often times in an Access.it replacement project, we are replacing antiquated electronic systems, but in this case we are replacing a more 'old fashion' method: manual combination lockers," said John Kormanik, senior account manager, LEID Products. "The new system will save the 161st ARW staff time as they are no longer required to keep manual logs. The command staff has proven their forward thinking attitude and dedication toward its staff and the organization's safety procedures. They've done their due diligence in researching options for replacing a time consuming system, with technology that will ensure its flight crew safety while saving time."

The new lockers at 161st ARW will have open backs to track entrance into lockers and provide electronic reports detailing all locker access for administrators via a unique dedicated PC. The dedicated PC will be installed by LEID Products by the request of the organization, as it wants to keep the system separate for security purposes. The system can be accessed by 161st ARW management and patrons through that PC, or through an LCD-keypad interface attached to the unit or via a remote web browser. The units are manufactured with 16 gauge galvanneal steel and coated with powder coat paint to protect against wear and tear. Patron compartments are secured with robust electronic rotary latches.
