BACS Evidence Management System Earns Industry Recognition |

This month, we were fortunate enough to be recognized by two of the most prestigious and well respected publications in the law enforcement industry, Law Enforcement Technology and Police Magazine. Our BACS Evidence Management System - with LEID's Electronic Evidence Lockers and BACS Evidence Management ID Station Kiosk - is the reason we have been recognized. The system, which provides access and tracking for evidence moving in and out of property rooms, has been proven to help achieve better chain of custody, increased accuracy in reporting, and time savings.
LEID earned the industry recognition while showcasing the BACS System earlier this fall at the annual International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) Conference in San Diego. This is the largest meeting of law enforcement executives in the world. The IACP assembles the newest products and the latest technologies at the largest exposition designed specifically for law enforcement.
Our first acknowledgment was in Police Magazine when the publication honored LEID Products by including our BACS Evidence Management System in their "Best of Show" IACP Photo Gallery, noted by editors as one of the top 12 products of the 2012 IACP Show. In addition, the BACS System was one of just nine products included in the IACP "News and Notes" review section of Law Enforcement Technology Magazine.

Spotlight on LEID's Director of Products - Dave Malkan |
Whether canyoneering or mountain biking in Moab, or hang gliding in Rio, or simply enjoying the open air on his motorcycle, LEID's Director of Products, Dave Malkan, has a passion for exploring! Dave loves to travel to new places and enjoys the activities that take him there. He even enjoys dancing....salsa, break, and swing! Fortunately for LEID Products, that passion for adventure and exploration has translated into a great aptitude for product development.
LEID Products has a long history with Dave. Just a young engineering student in January of 1997, Dave started his career at LEID's sister company Patti Engineering as a co-op student while studying to be an electrical engineer at Kettering University. Upon graduating, Dave was welcomed to the Patti Engineering team as a full-time electrical engineer.
Dave's adventurous spirit led him to explore other opportunities with other companies for several years. Yet, he returned home to Patti Engineering and the newly formed LEID Produ cts after meeting back up with the team at a wedding reception and discussing the new and exciting technologies we were developing. Dave's return to Patti Engineering to work with LEID Products brings opportunities and challenges that keep him inspired. Dave has excelled as Director of Products. He is responsible for design, implementation, and maintenance of LEID's biometric and controlled access systems for the secure storage and tracking of weapons, evidence, intellectual property (data), and pharmaceuticals.
