Dear friends & family,

This Saturday is the longest day of the year. I hope you have something special planned that takes you outdoors!

I want to do everything on this list, right down to the woodrat lecture. It's also goin'-to-press week, so that's unlikely. But one certainty is Tuesday's Green Drinks, which will be held here at the CATALYST office (see details below). Maybe we'll see you here, too?

Once a booming metropolis fueled by the auto industry, Detroit has seen its population decline 62% - from a peak of nearly 2 million in 1950, to just over 700,000 today. In the wake of this exodus, folks have come together to reclaim abandoned lots, grow their own food, and empower their communities.
