Dear Friends and Family,

Today we had lunch with Nan Seymour from Local First, and heard about their plans for 2014. This is a good group of people whose mission is to help us recognize the value and vitality of locally owned, independent businesses to our community and our economy. When you shop this month (and always), think local, first. (Visit them on Facebook for activities and ideas.)

We also met with Green Drinks organizer Mary Rogers today, and sketched out plans for a really cool CATALYST/Green Drinks event next spring. Can't wait to tell you more about it!

Here's a taste of what's in the December CATALYST:
Air Quality: What's really going on? Valhalla ~ a ski film that breaks new trails. Toasting with low-carbon-footprint spirits. Radical enactivism: exploring the notion that people can think-in-motion instead of being all-in-their-heads. A look at two moving books ~ Kenvin: An Artist's Kitchen and The Better Angels of Our Nature: Why Violence Has Declined. And useful tips on getting started in (or getting better at) the live yuletide tree tradition
.

And now, on to this week's events.

Blog Updates

It's on. It's off. It's on. It's off. Again. And so it goes for this week and next, as Uranus prepares to go direct on December 17...AND...Venus gets ready to go retrograde on December 21. (Yes, I left that bit out last week.) Expect the stop-and-start effect of this forward/backward planetary pattern to disrupt individual as well as collective equilibriums. And because Mars, currently in Libra, also begins its opposition to Uranus this week, anticipate that more than a few of those disruptions will be in the realm of personal relationships...(read more).
