Dear Friends & Family,
The long-awaited "CATALYST 100" list appears in the January 2013 issue, which comes out next week (and can be seen online via this newsletter right now). It is a figurative roomful of amazing people, nominated by our readers and staff, who have conspired to make this a wiser, healthier, more interesting place--not by virtue of their personalities alone, but by what they have set in motion. We are honored to present them to you.
Does it seem half the folks you know are Capricorn, and they're all having birthday parties now? That's the case here. So we're skipping our "First Thursdays" dance party at Zest next week, due to excess. Catch us in February.
Enjoy the issue! And see our event picks below for the week ahead.

Thank you!
~Greta

bulletsandbelles.com
Join Bullets & Belles with guest bands, Triggers and Slips, and The Bully for the debut of B&B's first full-length album Be Glad.
Bullets & Belles is Neo-Doo-Wop-Folk. Think Amy Winehouse and Dion & The Belmonts, but also Arcade Fire and Les Paul. Their sublime three-part vocal harmonies and deeply felt poetic lyrics seamlessly bend through the rules of genre while always leaving the audience wanting (and often whistling...). With former CATALYST staffers Addie & Emma Ryder on backup vocals!

The Aquarium Age: Dec. 26 - Jan. 1
--by Ralfee Finn
It's hard to know what to say at the end of this extraordinarily long year that seems to have gone by in the blink of an eye; a year that started with a painstaking, frustrating, and in certain instances, excruciating Mars Retrograde and ended with a painful, disturbing, and devastating Uranus Direct. All year long emotional bodies have run the gamut between anxiety and ecstasy, wild expectation and dashing disappointment, and now, finally at the finish line, far too many of us are suffering from physical as well as psychic exhaustion...(read more)
