Michael Meade is a compelling storyteller, author and scholar of mythology, anthropology and psychology. He returns for his third season as a Jung Society presenter, conveying his message through stories and song. CATALYST attended in the past and found him captivating and thought-provoking. Highly recommended.

Listen...and watch: The Salt Lake Symphony with painter Josee Nadeau will provide delectation for both eyes and ears. Music Director Robert Baldwin will conduct the symphony through a variety of atmospheric pieces, including J.S. Bach's "Passacaglia and Fugue in C Minor" and English composer Henry Purcel's "Chacony for Strings in G Minor" while artist Nadeau paints live in response to the music.

The U of U's Performing Dance Company (PDC) showcases choreography from faculty and guest artists focusing on creating new works and reconstructing historical masterpieces. This month's performance features choreography by Juan Carlos Claudio, Pamela Geber Handman, Satu Hummasti and Sharee Lane. If you're a modern dance enthusiast and haven't seen PDC perform yet, you're in for a treat (says Greta).

Even as I write this, I can hear you thinking, "What? No gloom and doom forecast? Could this be real?" And the answer would be "Yes -- just don't expect miracle cures."

Volunteer Opportunity:
Riverside Park Tree Planting
 
 

Wednesday, Oct. 17, 4-5p.
This spring, cottonwood trees in Riverside Park had to be removed due to decay. Help to replace those trees by planting 20 new, large cottonwoods that will thrive in the park and be healthy for years to come. If you live in the Rose Park, Fairpark, Jordan Meadows or Westpointe area, this project is for you!  Eighteen strong volunteers needed, 16 years of age or older.
