We live in very exciting times. Only a few short years ago Science made us hold fast to the idea that our brains could not change and in fact, that it degenerated as we got on in age. Now, the truth has come to light that the brain can change dramatically and that it doesn't have to go in the path of arthritic bones and wrinkled skin.

Many of you have heard me talk about "brain plasticity" for a while and relating it to how important it is to think positively and how "it's all a matter of perception" when it comes to stress and how we experience life. I read somewhere once that Science will meet spirit at some point. I believe it is now here in Neuroscience. New avenues of Psychology have arrived and suddenly the positive thinking and affirmation way of life is validated and taken out of the category of "New Age" to learning techniques in education and psychotherapy. Dr. Jayne Cohodas graduated from the School of Psychology at Yeshiva University and completed a post doctorate in Neuropsychology from the Fielding Institute. She specializes in providing neuropsychological evaluations, advocating for services in schools, Cognitive Behavior Therapy and running parent and children support groups. She incorporates stress reduction and visual imagery in order to minimize pain and anxiety. Dr. Cohodas is also an adjunct professor at Nassau Community College and maintains a practice both in NYC and Long Island.
