Hartfield's Hikers New Logo

This is a copy of my last newsletter.  It has links to my other sites, including the meetup I mentioned to you.  The Professional Coach I mentioned to you is Jahi.  His telephone number is 404.438.3156, and his email address follows: falahworldwide@yahoo.com.

Thank you so very, very much for taking the photos for me! You can send them to me by email.  If you need to call me, please feel free to do so at 678.231.4973.

Please accept this special invitation to join me as we celebrate 3 years of Hartfield's Hikers.  To show my appreciation for your support, there are NO FEES for this hike!  Just parking, unless you have a Georgia State Park Pass, then it is free, and if you carpool, your donation to the driver. You don't event have to register for this one...just show up!

Yes, I know this is last minute...but it is the 1st Saturday of the month, and we have not missed one yet.  I am looking forward to the hike this month to the Raven Cliff Falls and the Dukes Creek Falls.  I am already imagining the refreshing mist from the falls gently caressing my face and the cooling affect on my skin...ooooh...don't miss it!

So much is going on...read the Lifestyle Blog to get updated. Share our newsletters with your family, friends and colleagues; Hartfield's Hikers, OPALs, OPALs Meetup (New), Lifestyle Management, LLC, Hartfield's Healthy Haven, Atlanta African American Adventurers and my Lifestyle Blog (Updated).

Don't forget, you can always go to the Lifestyle Management calendar (Updated)
and check out our Newsletter Archives, to find out where the upcoming hike will be and register, other events, and the archives to find out what we have done.  Know that I really appreciate your continued support.

Enjoy Life and Live it to the Fullest!!!

The Raven Cliff Falls trail is a wonder to behold. After the first waterfall a change in the trees is obvious. The forest is dominated by hardwoods. Short cascades and riplets of whitewater produce a relaxing gurgle during a significant portion of the hike. On the path several additional waterfalls add to the pleasure of this trek.

The path is rarely more than 50 feet from the creek. The approach to the Cliffs is the highlight of the trip. A quick climb and loud noise impart the message of the approaching waterfall. The water rushes through a split in the rocks and splashes down in cascades to the bottom. Typical of high forest falls, water flow is heavy only in the spring, but somehow the way the cliff is shaped makes these falls seem strong most of the year.

The Dukes Creek Falls pathway is remarkably level, it descends more than 400 feet on the one-mile in/out trek. The sound of the waterfall can only be heard at the middle of each switchback, fading as the next turn approaches. This is my favorite Waterfall...it is so refreshing...the cool mist on your skin is indescribable and the falls themselves are mesmerizing.

Bring plenty of water, snacks and your lunch. We will have lunch at the Raven Cliff Falls.

Remember...we carpool, so please be prepared to donate $7 - $10 to the driver for gas and parking.  There is a $5 fee for parking unless you go to your local library and check-out a State Park Parking Pass for free parking.

Any questions, please feel free to call me at 678.231.4973.

Don't forget the Leave No Trace principles to which we adhere... what you carry in, you carry out, with the exception of taking your memories of the adventure, your new friendships, and of course, any photos you may take.

Hiking Tips

Hiking Boots
Get a good restful night's sleep.

Eat a hardy nutritious breakfast.

Stay hydrated! Drink lots of water. Don't worry about having to use the bathroom...it is not an issue!

Wear layered clothing made of light quick drying (wicking) fabric. Stay away from cotton it holds too much moisture.

Wear sturdy comfortable shoes or hiking boots.  Never wear new boots or shoes on a hike...you will be sorry! Break them in first.

Pack healthy snacks and a light healthy lunch.

Slow down, rest if necessary, stop if tired. Don't push yourself. On our hikes we are as fast as the slowest person, guaranteed.

Follow the Leave No Trace Principles.  Whatever you take in you take out.  Our motto is we only take photographs and only leave with great memories that we cherish!
