Congratulations to our Grammy Winning Clients

We'd like to congratulate our clients who were recognized by The Recording Academy at this year's Grammy Awards Ceremony, held February 8 in Los Angeles.

-The Earls of Leicester won Best Bluegrass Album for their self-titled album on Rounder Records (mastered by David Glasser).

-Third Man/Revenant Records won Best Boxed or Special Limited Edition Package for "The Rise & Fall Of Paramount Records, Volume One (1917-27)" which featured mastering and restoration by Airshow's David Glasser and Anna Frick, and Christopher King.

Once again Airshow is honored to be working with such top-notch talent!

Engineer's Corner: Spotlight on Randy LeRoy

In this year's newsletters, we will feature profiles of Airshow's engineers, continuing this month with Randy LeRoy, Senior Mastering Engineer at the Takoma Park, Maryland studios.

Randy LeRoy has always been a music-lover. Since his early days playing his '77 Les Paul Custom guitar in his band Theory, to his time as an A&R coordinator with CBS Records, to developing an ear for mastering while in his former home of Nashville, Randy's passion for music has enabled him to leave his mark on many recordings.

Find out more about how Randy came to work with some of the biggest names in bluegrass, country and Americana in this month's Engineer's Corner.

Music Librarians Meet in Denver February 25 - March 1

Airshow's Restoration Center for Audio Archives will be represented at the annual MLA meeting in Denver this week. Sessions include digital archiving for scores and special collections, audio quality, and "audio archeology" of mystery recordings brought by MLA members. After the conference, THATCamp hosts an interactive "non-conference" oriented to problem-solving in real time. Ann Blonston, Karen Maye and Anna Frick will be in the Exhibit Hall and at sessions; stop and say hi.

Photos from Our Recent Studio Visits

Takoma Park's studio manager Mike Petillo went to visit some studios in the DC and Richmond, Virginia areas recently. Check out some of his pictures from his travels to Red Amp Audio, Distri.co, and Bastille Recording

Charlie Pilzer at Folk Alliance

Takoma Park's Chief Engineer Charlie Pilzer traveled out to Kansas City to attend the 2015 Folk Alliance International Conference. Of course he couldn't help but do some recording while out there, setting up a quick studio inside the hotel room in order to record tracks for musician Spook Handy's upcoming tribute to Pete Seeger. One of the featured guests was artist David Amram. Check out some pictures from the trip here.
