David Glasser's Analog Tape Series

"Over the last couple years, I've had a remarkable number of projects come through my mastering studio originating on tape. Some of these projects involve restoration on past work of notable artists including the Grateful Dead and Doc Watson, but many are new recordings by artists intrigued by the unique quality of analog sound and recording. Welcome to a small-but hopefully useful-primer and introduction to analog tape machines." - David Glasser

Enjoy a taste of this new song from Jeff Austin (of Yonder Mountain String Band) for the soundtrack of the upcoming documentary I Know That Voice-a documentary that puts a face to the voices we all know and love from vintage and contemporary animation-and check out the official trailer at www.iknowthatvoice.com. The song was written, performed, and produced by Jeff Austin, recorded by Gregg McCrae at Coupe Studios, mixed by Gregg McCrae and Jeff Austin, and mastered by David Glasser.

Family History, Ben's debut album, tells the story of the extending circles of family.  The songs are hazy snapshots into the lives of brothers, sisters, wives and husbands, mothers and fathers.  The record, released in April 2013, was arranged and recorded along with the production expertise of Wendell Kimbrough, and the voices of a few other talented musicians.  Mastered by Charlie Pilzer.

Nora Jane Struthers' latest album, Carnival, issued on the singer-songwriter's own label was produced by Brent Truitt (Dolly Parton, Alison Krauss, Dixie Chicks) and mastered by Takoma Park's Randy LeRoy.  The CD consists of 14 fresh and original compositions in her "Classic Americana" vein that richly shows off her skills as a sensitive and intelligent tune-weaver and a warm and persuasive vocalist.
