Hi there!

Happy New Year! Thank you for subscribing to this newsletter and being part of the CCE journey. :-)

Busy spring coming up...I'll be offering 2 new online courses, a local workshop, and en event. The announcements will be going out in the next couple weeks...getting things ready behind the scenes right now. Stay tuned! In the meantime, thought I'd share some blog posts, updates, creativity links and tweets with you.

Last year we hosted our first online Creativity in Business: Applied Discovery Telesummit for around 1000 people and the presenters rocked! Even if you missed any of the live calls, you can still listen to the MP3s of all 16 sessions anytime (details below)! We're also adding in some free bonus sessions.

Our Creative Facilitation Workshop last December filled up with an amazing group of super creative facilitators. It re-energized me to get back to my book, Pattern Breaks: A Facilitator's Guide of Cultivating Creativity, which is taking a while even though it is a short guide, but should be done in the next couple months by the next Creative Facilitation course. The 2012 group bonded and formed their own practice group - open to all past "graduates." If you've taken any of my Creative Facilitation workshops in the past 8 years and want to join them, please email me - they welcome you.

I'm also excited one of the applied creativity pioneers, Michael Gelb, invited me to partner on a corporate client innovation project with him (reading his books 15 years ago, he was one of my inspirations so it's extra fun!), and to be invited back to present Improv for Leaders at the Front End of Innovation Conference this year in Boston. If you're going, let me know.

Happy 2013! May this year be your most creative, generative, life-giving year yet! :-)

Warmly,

Michelle

6 Elements of Signature Work

In the years I've been coaching and working with passion-centered, purpose-driven entrepreneurs, there are a few patterns I've observed with clients and peers who have successfully made their way doing and embodying their alive, meaningful, signature work in the world. By cultivating these elements as an entrepreneur, you become more

empowered in what you are offering, and in owning its value. Read the complete article on my blog.

I offer Creative Emergence Coaching packages to help entrepreneurs, pioneers, consultants, coaches, creatives, leaders, and "new structure creators" develop their signature work, approaches and offerings. There's no one else who can do what you do in the unique way you are designed to do it - that is for sure! To find out more visit the Coaching page on our website or email me to schedule a 30-minute complimentary consultation to see if the creative emergence approach resonates with you for the next stage of your work.
The Creativity in Business Telesummit - still available on MP3s!

16 creativity thought leaders and practitioners, pioneering entrepreneurs, authors, and business innovators explored discovery and applied creativity in work and business! Each shared their own discovery story and offered creativity principles and actionable practices.

To learn more or order your own MP3 Package - a 16-hour applied creativity immersion course from people living it and facilitating it in the real world - go to: http://www.BizcreativitySummit.com

When you are there, don't forget to sign up in the "Join Now" box to get notified when the new bonus session are available. The first one coming up will be with Dr. Paul Scheele, founder of Natural Brilliance - he has LOTS of applied creativity and tapping-into-your-genius wisdom and experience to share!

Expand Your Story: Improv for Reinvention

Finally got around to putting this up on Slideshare...from an online presentation I did a  while back (and the last time I'll create slides without images - my bad!) at the Reinvention Summit. http://www.slideshare.net/mjames7770/improv-for-creative-reinvention
Creative Aliveness Poster

A couple years ago I wrote an article on this blog on 9 Practices for Cultivating Creative Aliveness that goes into more detail with each of the practices. I recently played with making it into a poster - and shortening it. Click here for the poster.
From Telesummit Listeners

1. One of the Creativity in Business Conference (CIBT) listeners, Halelly Azulay, wrote a great blog post describing how she applied the Algorithmic Brainstorming technique presented by Annalie Killian. Read it here:

2. Another listener, Lucinda Levine, drew this graphic recording of some the points that telesummit presenter Nathan Schwagler brought up in his inspiring session:

CreativiTweet Musings

Every issue I also include some of my own musings in 140 characters or less. These are some of my recently tweeted explorations about creativity and emergence:

1.  Some mysteries lend to being solved...others to being engaged,
     not necessarily answered. #creativeemergence
2.  Facilitating creativity means the facilitator also gets to be
     surprised what emerges.

3.  Presence is the new "Open Sesame."

4.  I think it's lack of Presence that's at root of most challenges. With presence we have
greater access to our creativity...and previously unimagined possibilities.

5.  Paradox is it takes a lot of effort for something to become effortless...but when
it does, it's as if it has always been.

6.  Entry to the castle often means dealing with some nasty creatures in the moat first.

7.  We're born to explore, mess up...and keep trying. Imagine if a baby didn't try walking for
fear of falling...or harshly judged self and quit if he or she did fall.

8.  It's about thinking true...sometime that's thinking big; sometimes deep; and
     sometimes it's just being....here, now.

9.  Great thing about a creative universe is that there multiple "best" ways to
     do/think/see anything...we get to choose.

10. Relevance begins from within ourselves. If we really know our selves, what's
relevant to create emerges with greater clarity.

Capitol Creativity Network

After 9 years of regular meetings, CCN
is moving from 12 monthly gatherings/year to 3 or 4 gatherings per year. We will be meeting again this year...details to come soon. Thanks for bearing with us as we are working out the details. Your ongoing support, and for many of you who are local, your engagement and attendance at CCN events has been amazing...I'm so grateful!
