Christmas
ONE THING.  JUST ONE THING.   

 

Do you remember the movie City Slickers?  Billy Crystal and his friends head out on a guys' trip to drive cattle and "find themselves". Crystal befriends an old cowboy named Curly, played by Jack Palance. Curly tells him that the secret to life is "one thing," and he holds up his index finger.  Crystal asks Curly what that "one thing" is, and Curly replies, "That's what you have to find out."
 
A lot of people live their lives searching for their "one thing" without ever finding it.  This weekend in our study of what it means to go "All In" we'll look at the story of a man who came to Jesus because he knew there was something missing in his life.  The difference in his encounter is that Jesus told him exactly what that "one thing" was that he was lacking and what he needed to do to find it.
 
I hope you can join us, as we unpack the story and look at what it can teach us about loving God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength.

CHRISTMAS WRAPPING PARTY
TODAY! THURSDAY, DECEMBER 5

WOMEN'S CHRISTMAS TEA
THIS SATURDAY, DECEMBER 7                

Our Women's Christmas Tea will be a time for women to celebrate the gift of Jesus. We'll enjoy festive food and a holiday message from Sarah Fox. A special offering will be taken for #Special Delivery Uganda. JAMPAC CHRISTMAS MUSICAL
THIS WEEKEND: DECEMBER 7-8                  

The children from JAMPAC (Jesus And Me Performing Arts Choir) will present their Christmas musical, "A Simple Christmas" this weekend, December 7-8 during our weekend worship services (Saturday at 5:30PM and Sunday at 9AM & 11AM).  Plan to join us for this special Christmas celebration.

FEED THE 400 OUTREACH
SUNDAY, DECEMBER 22                    

Join us as we reach out to feed the homeless at the Union Rescue Mission. We'll meet for worship at ERBC at 9AM and then carpool to downtown LA, where we'll serve lunch to 400 people living on Skid Row, from 11AM-3PM.  Spots are limited to 15 volunteers, and you need to complete a volunteer application by December 20.  Contact Jordan: jordan@eaglerockbaptist.com. 
CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICE
TUESDAY, DECEMBER 24                     

Get all your shopping done early, because you won't want to miss this special opportunity to worship with your church family on Christmas Eve.  Join us at 6PM in the Worship Center for a time of special music, worship and celebration of the birth of our Savior.  Childcare is provided.  Everyone is welcome!   
 
CHRISTMAS DINNER
WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 25                      

If you don't already have plans with your family, please join us for Christmas Dinner, Wednesday, December 25, from 12-2PM in Fellowship Hall.  We'll enjoy dinner, sing some Christmas carols and share a special time together celebrating Jesus' birth. GIVING UPDATES 
CHRISTMAS OFFERING & PHILIPPINES RELIEF 

Thanks so much to each of you who have given toward our "All In" Christmas Offering, as well as our efforts to provide relief assistance to those affected by Typhoon Haiyan in Tacloban. So far we have received $11,550 in over and above gifts. 
 
Please pray that we'll continue to be generous as we give toward these needs in the weeks ahead.
