ADDICTED TO APPROVAL?

 
Are you addicted to approval?  I wasn't sure whether I was, so I took the free online quiz offered by Redbook Magazine.  After I completed the quiz, I still wasn't sure, but it started me thinking about how concerned I am with what other people think about me.  
 
Most of us like to be liked, but have you ever thought about how the desire to gain the approval of others can hinder us in our walk with God?  Becoming obsessed with what people think about you is the quickest way to forget what God thinks about you.  
 
This weekend, as we continue our look at WEiRD (because normal isn't working), we're going to see that, from God's perspective, it's not just okay to be weird, it's better.  I hope you can join us.

Financial Peace Univ FINANCIAL PEACE UNIVERSITY
BEGINS THIS SATURDAY, OCTOBER 12

operation christmas child OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD
FILL A BOX!          

ERBC is excited to offer an opportunity for you to share the love of Jesus with kids all over the world this Christmas.  Through Operation Christmas Child, you can pack a small box with practical supplies and simple toys that will bless a child in need.  Turn in your box by Friday, October 25.  Find out more by contacting Becky Bibelheimer: becky@eaglerockbaptist.com.

THIS SATURDAY, OCTOBER 12

YOUNG ADULTS SECRET STAIRS
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 26            

Join us as we explore the Secret Stairs --an historical staircase that meanders through the hillside neighborhoods of Los Angeles.  Wear comfortable shoes and bring a water bottle with you.  Afterwards, we'll enjoy lunch at a local cafe (bring $10 for lunch).  Carpool from church at 10AM and return at 2PM.  Contact Andrew White: andrew@eaglerockbaptist.com.

Why go "trick or treating" when you can go "trick or trunking"?! Trick or Trunk is a fun, free, safe way to celebrate on October 31. We'll have a parking lot full of decorated trunks for you to visit (and get treats) from 6:30-8:30PM. Admission is free; food and drinks will be available for purchase.
