HEAVY LOAD?
Several years ago our daughter, Kari, went to China for six weeks to teach English. She was allowed to bring one bag with a weight limit of 40 pounds, and about 10 of those pounds were taken up by the curriculum necessary to teach the class. Think about it: one twenty year old girl, one bag, 30 pounds, for EVERYTHING she will need for six weeks teaching school in a foreign country. It was quite a challenge but Kari got it done.
You might be wondering: how in the world did she do that? It came down to one word: CHOICES! Kari had to choose wisely, sometimes between two good options, in order to "travel light".
This weekend we'll be concluding our sermon series, BAGGAGE, by looking at the Biblical choices necessary to "travel light" when it comes to both our physical, and our spiritual families.
Also this weekend we'll be celebrating Mother's Day by honoring everyone who is a mom or has a mom. We'll have a free photo booth for families and friends and also a delicious continental breakfast. I hope you'll be able to join us at one of our three weekend services: Saturday at 5:30PM and Sunday at 9AM & 11AM.

 YOUTH CARWASH-A-THON
We've got great activities planned for our youth this summer (including camp at Hume Lake). Help support our students by sponsoring our Carwash-a-thon. Support a teen with a pledge per car washed.  MOTHER'S DAY
Join us for a special Mother's Day celebration on Sunday, May 12. Services will be held at the usual times, 9AM and 11AM (as well as Saturday at 5:30PM). We will be serving up a continental breakfast, in honor of our moms, between the Sunday morning services. There will also be a fun photo booth to capture the day. Everyone is welcome --bring your mom!

 CORE GROUPS

CoreGroups are small groups of 12-15 people who meet weekly, for 10 weeks, to discuss interesting questions related to our pastors' messages, as well as build friendships, grow spiritually, pray for one another, serve together, and have fun.  JAMPAC

 TIJUANA MISSIONS TRIP
This summer, ERBC will be partnering with iEmpathize on a mission trip to Tijuana, Mexico, with a focus on combating human sex trafficking. If you're interested in serving, join us for a meeting on Sunday, May 19, from 3-4PM in Chi Hall. The dates of the trip are July 26-30 and you must be at least 18 years old to serve.  HOMELESS REGISTRY

ERBC is excited to continue our partnership in caring for the homeless. On June 1-2, we'll be helping to conduct in-depth surveys of the homeless in Highland Park and Eagle Rock.
