GOT BAGGAGE?
If you've traveled lately, you know that the rules for checking baggage have changed. The things that you used to be able to check for free now cost you. There are also more restrictions about the things you can carry on.
We know about the costs associated with excess baggage when we travel, but what about the baggage we carry around with us every day? The baggage I'm referring to is the stuff we carry from our past. Maybe if we were charged for the old stuff that we hang on to, we'd be quicker to let go of it.
The Apostle Paul described the way that he ran the race that is the Christian life with these words:
"Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us." Philippians 3:13-14
I hope you can join us this weekend as we continue our look at the stuff that weighs us down and the things we can do to get rid of it.
Embracing the journey,
Pastor Rick
