On the Christian calendar, yesterday was Palm Sunday, the beginning of Holy Week.  During this week believers around the world will reflect on Jesus' journey to the Cross, beginning with his triumphal entry into Jerusalem and concluding with his lonely trek from the Upper Room, through Gethsemane, and ultimately to Calvary and the empty tomb.

Some Christians wonder, since God has called us to "be holy as I am holy," is it right for us to regard one week as being more holy than others?  The reality is that, whether or not we regard this week as any different than others, millions of people around the world do.  For the Christian, every Sunday should be resurrection Sunday, yet there will be far more people in churches across America this Sunday than on any other.

What should our response to this turn of events be?  In the words of the Apostle Paul, I believe we should "Make the most of every opportunity" (Ephesians 5:16).  Take advantage of the Easter season to engage people in conversations about spiritual things.  This is a time of year when folks are willing to talk about Easter traditions, which in turn can lead to significant spiritual conversations .

I'm praying that the Lord will provide you with opportunities to extend an invitation to others to join us for our Easter celebration, as we focus on the greatest story ever told, the good news of who Jesus is, what he did, and why it's important.

Join us for a time of worship and the Word, as we remember the sacrifice Jesus made for us.  Together we will consider the power of the cross and anticipate the glory of the resurrection.  Our Good Friday worship service will be held Friday, March 29, at 7PM in the Worship Center.  Everyone is welcome to come and worship with us.
