EAGLE ROCK BAPTIST CHURCH
coming events winter
CAN YOU TELL ME WHY?

everything happens Have you ever had something bad happen to you and then have people come to you with good intentions --they mean well, they're trying to be helpful-- and they'll say something like: "God must be up to something." "God doesn't make mistakes." "You must be very special for God to trust you with this."   "Isn't it good to know that everything happens for a reason?"

The words may vary, but the message stays the same, "Someday you'll be glad this happened."  In one sense, they're on the right track. No matter what happens, God is in control. He is the King of the universe. And He is good.  But that doesn't mean He's the direct cause of everything that happens. It doesn't mean that everything that happens is something He wants to happen. And it certainly doesn't mean that everything that God allows is good.

I hope you can join us this weekend as we look at what God's Word says about the reasons for some of the things that come our way and what we need to do in order to claim God's promises to work in them and through them.

Embracing the journey,
Pastor Rick

Answering the Call ANSWERING THE CALL
FINAL COUNT

Thank you to everyone that gave to our "Answer The Call" special year-end offering.   Our church joined together to give a total of $36,509.68

Your giving is really going to help our church make a difference in 3 specific areas in 2013:

Doing justice by partnering with I-empathize (anti-human trafficking organization) and Living Water International (a Christian organization that provides clean drinking water for the poorest of the poor around the world)

Loving mercy by supporting organizations that assist the widows, orphans, and the poor and needy in our community and around the world

Encouraging and equipping those in our church and community to walk humbly with God by:

1. Sharing God's love through outreach and evangelism projects

2. Offering resources in marriage, financial and emotional counseling

3. Investing in local church planting

Thanks so much for your generous support!
