FAILURE TO ACT: ASCE INFRASTRUCTURE REPORTS |
Over the last year, EDR Group prepared four reports for ASCE's Failure to Act economic report series, identifying the economic consequences of continued underinvestment in our nation's infrastructure, and the economic gains that could be made by 2020 in terms of GDP, personal disposable income, exports, and jobs if we choose as a country to invest in our communities. The series culminated with the January release of a summary report which presents an overall picture of the economic opportunity associated with infrastructure investment and the cost of failing to fill the investment gap. ECONOMIC IMPACT CASE STUDIES |
For the Strategic Highways Research Program (project SHRP2-C03), EDR Group led the $1.75 million national study of the economic impacts of highway projects, and the report is now available. COLUMBIA RIVER CROSSING |
EDR Group conducted economic impact analysis for a proposed reconstruction and expansion of the I-5 bridge over the Columbia River along the Oregon-Washington border.The analysis focused on impacts of the locally preferred alternative that shifts bridge height and roadway capacity. Read More |
TRANSPORTATION AND BUSINESS PRODUCTIVITY |
TRB has posted a literature review by EDR Group on ways in which transportation affects business productivity. This is part of NCHRP 2-24, a national project to develop a methodology and guide for incorporating productivity gains in analysis and prioritization of transportation investments. The methodology and guide will help DOTs and other agencies to apply consistent analysis methods and produce results that facilitate public decision making about transportation improvements.
