God manifested himself in every way in Tisma, Nicaragua on our trip! It was an amazing thing to see Him work in, around, and through our team.  The change in focus is not only beneficial, but rather, it is necessary!   Prior to this trip, my job, school, relationships, money, sports, etc. all sucked up my time and my focus.  This trip allowed me to redirect my compass towards a heavenly mindset while prior I struggled to fit in time to refocus only here and there when I could manage it.  That attitude was all wrong.  It has nothing to do with my ability to manage my time or set aside time.  It has everything to do with me going about my days activities with a focused mindset.  Just as Paul urged us to constantly renew our minds, this trip showed that my different activities that I have to complete each day should be just another opportunity to focus and depend on God.  If I go about each task with my life mission in mind (love God and love people), God can take control and work in and through me to affect those I live and work around.  In Tisma, we had this focus and mindset twenty four hours a day through all of our work.  It was amazing to see the people of Tisma healed physically and mentally!  It's like nothing I've ever seen.

"You have made known to me the paths of life; you will make me full of gladness with your presence."

Acts 2:28

Dear Compass Life Family & Friends

I was reminded this weekend about how often I take God's greatness for granted.  I was reminded of how incredible He is and how deserving He is of our praise, worship and thanksgiving.  Sometimes I get so busy "doing" that I forget where my strength and provision come from and worse yet, I forget why I am "doing." Many of us sing some pretty awesome worship songs on Sunday mornings as we gather together as the Church. This Sunday was no different right up until the worship pastor stopped us right in the middle of singing and asked us if we really meant and believed what we were singing ... it really made me think about the God who calls us to gather in His name to His glory.  I wondered to myself...  do we really know Who it is we are worshiping?  Do we really know Him? Then I remembered a great description I heard spoken of Him years ago in a Church in Louisville. This 3 minute and 19 second video is a great reminder of the One who must be the center of our thankfulness, our doing and our singing this and every month - the King of Kings!!

Join us on our next mission trip...

The first training session for the next mission trip to Nicaragua is coming up this weekend.  If you are considering going on this trip please join us at 3 PM on 11 November at 110 Waterleaf Road.  Training is scheduled for 11 Nov, 9 Dec, 13 Jan and 10 Feb.  This team will depart on 23 Feb, 2013.  See the Compass Life website for more information.

GO with us... center your lives on the path He has made known to us... and in His presence you will be filled with gladness!

PRAY for us and those we will share the love of Christ with.  In September, partnered with BMDMI, nearly 4,000 Nicaraguans received medical care and over 600 now walk with the King of Kings!

GIVE to see 100's more eternally transformed by the power of Christ!

We are planning two additional trips for 2013:

Compass Life Partnerships

On the 29th of October, I was blessed to meet with Pastor Peter Kasirivu from Africa Renewal Ministries. Africa Renewal is a joint US / Ugandan led ministry that God has used to make a huge impact on the lives of thousands of orphans in Uganda. Peter and I found that our biblical / ministry convictions are essentially identical and we are moving through a prayerful process of formally partnering expecting God to accomplish more than we can imagine.   Please pray for us as we move forward.
