Smoky Mountain LME/MCO is offering a Motivational Interviewing training on April 23-24. There are currently 18 spots remaining for interested providers, consumers and community members.
Registration is $40 for this two-day training. Sessions are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Western Carolina University, Cullowhee campus, Ramsey Regional Activity Center, hospitality suite, 92 Catamount Road, Cullowhee, NC 28723. NBCC-approved CEUs |

"A spring training opportunity in the art of guiding behavior change"
This two-day workshop introduces the principles and use of motivational interviewing. The trainer will discuss the origins, research and principles of motivational interviewing. Participants will learn and practice basic and advanced MI skills, as well as practical ways to enhance these skills and to incorporate them into service delivery.
Trainer: Michelle Drapkin, PhD, is the national program coordinator for the Department of Veterans Affairs' central office, Mental Health Services Motivational Enhancement Therapy Training Program. She is a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers, trained by Drs. William Miller and Theresa Moyers, and is trained in the Motivational Treatment Integrity scale. |
