Have free Office via Cornell? Launch it over break.

Thousands of students, faculty, and staff have taken advantage of their ability to install Microsoft Office free, which comes as a result of their relationship with Cornell. (If you haven't yet, learn more at  http://it.cornell.edu/freeoffice http://it.cornell.edu/freeoffice .)

To keep Office activated, it's important to launch one of the programs in it (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or one of the other components) from time to time while connected to the Internet. This requirement applies to installations made under the Student Advantage offer or the Office 365 ProPlus for Faculty and Staff offer. Every couple of weeks, while connected to the Internet, start up each computer or device you installed Office on for free and run one of the Office programs.

This will be enough for the software to verify that you are still affiliated with Cornell and entitled to free Office.

Winter Break Activities

Cornell is sponsoring a number of activities at Hasbrouck and Maplewood, including Chinese Fitness Dancing, Yoga, Movie Night, a New Year's Party, and more.  You do not need to be a resident of Hasbrouck or Maplewood to attend.

New Mentoring Program

GPWomeN is reaching out to graduate and professional students, interested in participating in our cross-disciplinary mentoring program (for Spring 2015) as a MENTOR or MENTEE.

GPWomen is an umbrella organization for all graduate and professional women and their organizations, and therefore our mentorship program reaches across disciplines. This allows us to have a mentoring program, which can pair participants by interest, and not just field, building a cross-campus network to support and inspire one another.

Time commitment:  Once paired, mentors and mentees are encouraged to attend GPWomeN events together and set up at least three one on one meetings over the course of the semester.

If you are interested in serving as a mentor or mentee, please contact us at: [email protected]

We welcome ALL members of the Cornell Graduate and Professional Community!
