1. New Package Delivery Location Program Update for Parnassus User Pilot
Thank you Parnassus users for participating in the new package delivery location program that launched on August 22nd as a pilot for Parnassus locations initially.
We are seeing a steady increase of non-urgent packages being routed by you through our Oyster Point Last-Mile Package Delivery Program as Requesters continue to adopt and fully use the program.
Your thoughtful choices greatly assist the university to reduce the number of delivery trucks on the Parnassus Campus and the amount of time trucks spend on our streets. You are directly assisting UCSF in reaching its carbon neutrality goals by 2025 and we want to thank you for your wonderful participation!
A few helpful and important reminders:
- Always check to ensure that the "ship-to address" on your requisition is the location where you want your order shipped. If the "ship-to address" is not the address you want to use, change the address to the appropriate location. Additional guidance is available at in the Last-Mile Package Delivery Program guide.
- You are the decision maker for the delivery location. If an item is needed urgently, select your "department ship-to" address, not the "616 Forbes Blvd" Oyster Point address.
- If you have not already done so, please set aside time to watch the online training webinar for this program or review the training guide and FAQs.
- Not all items (i.e. controlled substances, pharmaceuticals, America To Go orders, etc.) should be shipped to Oyster Point. Please carefully review the Last-Mile Package Delivery program guide for guidance.
If you have any suggestions, questions or need assistance with the program, please email logistics@ucsf.edu.
If you have BearBuy technical questions, please contact the IT Service Desk at (415) 514-4100, option 2 or appsupport@ucsf.edu.
Thank you again for your partnership in making this program successful for everyone!
UCSF has several initiatives focused on increasing sustainability efforts throughout the UCSF campus and campus community. In order to promote sustainability and meet campus goals, alongside UCSF LivingGreen, Supply Chain Management will be adding new LivingGreen icons and filters within the America To Go Punch-Out.
UCSF LivingGreen has developed zero waste requirements and nutrition guidelines for catering, meetings and events to ensure healthy choices are available within the ATG Punch-out. Throughout the month of September, America To Go and UC LivingGreen will be communicating and soliciting Suppliers on the America To Go Punch-out to identify as (1) Zero Waste compliant, (2) Sustainable (20% of product/item), and (3) Green Business Certified.
Once verified, qualifying ATG Suppliers will have visible icons associated to their menus identifying their level of participation. New Punch-out changes will include:
- LivingGreen highlight tiles
- LivingGreen filters
- Leaf icons (only associated to qualifying suppliers)
More details to follow in October.
If you have any questions about these efforts, and other UC LivingGreen efforts please contact Gail.Lee@ucsf.edu.
