1. America To Go

Thank you for your help in making the initial launch of the America To Go Punch-out a terrific success. Since the Punch-out went live in BearBuy, over 1,500 University catering orders have been placed through ATG. Thank you for all your efforts thus far.

As successful as this program has been so far, as a new year begins, we want to remind customers that:

  • Custom Orders
    • The America To Go system can accommodate custom orders.  Please contact the caterer directly to design a custom menu.  The caterer will load your personal custom quotation in the catalog where you can select the quotation and add it to a shopping cart for approval, ordering, and payment. If you have any questions or need assistance placing a custom or last minute order, please call America To Go Customer Service at 866-284-8646.
  • Delivery Information
    • The University understands there has been some confusion as to where the correct delivery information appears on the order receipts and email confirmations, specifically the room number. The Ship To section of the BearBuy shopping cart is used to provide building, room and attention to instructions for orders. Here is an example of the order confirmation's shipping information  with the room number highlighted for your reference:

  • UCSF Medical Center
    • Many clients of the UCSF Medical Center have reached out to America To Go at the direction of their caterers for assistance with orders. Regretfully, most UCSF Medical Center departments do not use BearBuy at this time.
    • Caterers have been advised that they should work directly with their Medical Center clients to establish mutually acceptable purchasing methods such as purchase orders and credit card payments for orders.
    • If a Medical Center department is interested in using BearBuy, they should reach out to their departmental access administrator or Medical Center Purchasing for further assistance.

Thank you again for all of your efforts in making the America To Go Punch-out a success.

2. "Did you know" Useful BearBuy Tips

Q: How is an Account value associated with my Accounting Code string if I do not specify an Account value on my requisition?

A: The Account value is determined by the Commodity Code selected on a requisition. Each Commodity Code is associated with a default Account value.

The Account value associated with each Commodity Code is specified at the end of the Commodity Code description. In the example above, the Account value associated with the "00111 - Lab Instruments/Supply" Commodity code is 52203.

If the default Account value associated with your Commodity Code appropriately classifies your purchase, then you do not need to specify an Account value in the Accounting Codes section of your requisition.

However, if you want to use an Account value that is different from the one associated with your Commodity Code, you can enter a different Account value in the Accounting Codes section of your requisition. Any Account value that you enter will override the Account value associated with the Commodity Code. You can access your requisition's Accounting Codes to enter your Account value by clicking the Proceed to Checkout button from your cart.

For additional guidance on entering Accounting Codes, please refer to the

the BearBuy Requester Quick Reference Guide. For a full listing of all Commodity Codes and their associated Account values, please refer to the BearBuy Forms Quick Reference Guide
