It has been a crazy couple of weeks. With all the poor weather my high school golf team had many events moved into the previous few weeks. At least the sun is shinning and we have had a couple of days in the 70's!

A new Food Fight restaurant will go into the Block 100 Project on the corner of North Fairchild and West Mifflin streets, across from the Overture Center and the new Central Library. The restaurant will occupy the first floor and about 5,800 square feet of space.

WISCONSIN HOME SALES UP 9.2% IN APRIL, FOR 'SOLID BUT SUSTAINABLE' PACE  

State home sales rose 9.2 percent in April, for the 22nd straight month of higher sales than the previous year. The statewide median sales price also grew, increasing 7.8 percent to $138,000.

A Plan Commission hearing on a disputed proposal to develop apartments in Brown Deer is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. May 28, at Brown Deer High School's Novak Fieldhouse.

SWEET WATER EQUIPMENT SALE WILL NEED COUNCIL APPROVAL

The Milwaukee Common Council, which provided a city loan to the now-insolvent Sweet Water Organics Inc., is requiring council approval for selling or leasing the company's collateral to help reduce the city's loss.

APARTMENT DEVELOPMENT PROPOSED FOR WEST ALLIS

A 38-unit apartment development is being proposed for West Allis.

Developer Chris Miller, of Hartland-based Miller Marriott Custom Homes LLC, wants to build a pair of two-story buildings, with 19 units each, on 2.2 acres on the west side of S. 92nd Street, immediately north of
the railroad overpass between W. Mitchell  and W. Rogers streets, according to a city Plan Commission report.
