Madison Area Technical College leaders are proposing to raise taxes by less than 1 percent next year, which if passed would be the smallest hike from the college in recent years.

PLAN APPROVED TO INCREASE SAFETY ON HIGHWAY 14 NEAR WISCONSIN HEIGHTS SCHOOLS

A plan by the Department of Transportation to strengthen safety measures on Highway 14 outside of Wisconsin Heights middle and high schools has received unanimous school board approval and a spot on the DOT's fast track.

Home sales rose 11.3% in the four-county metro Milwaukee area in March, and all but Washington County saw an increase in the average sale price in the first quarter of the year, a report released Thursday shows.

Greenfield - The trend some 30 years ago of apartments converted into condominiums seems to be taking a reverse course, at least in one instance.

With the market for condominiums languishing, developers John and Mark Wimmer are asking Greenfield if The Orchard condominium project at 91st Street and Forest Home Avenue could be turned into high-end apartments.

ABELE NAMES NEW COUNTY DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR  

An attorney and community developer has been named as Milwaukee County's economic development director by County Executive Chris Abele.

Teig Whaley-Smith will start in his new job on April 15, according to a statement issued Monday by Abele. His hiring will eventually need County Board confirmation.
