Despite a preference to keep my feet on the ground my daughter's interest in rock climbing has me climbing thirty foot walls...only time will tell if I am able to climb outdoors on cliffs rising hundreds of feet. It is amazing where this life will lead you!

Developers vying to revive the long-vacant, city-owned Union Corners site on the East Side both would need multiple exceptions from city financial assistance policies for their projects, a new city report shows.

Dane County Board members on Friday will outline a multimillion-dollar, multiyear initiative for the homeless that includes shelter and housing.

ADVISORY PANEL BACKS 1-YEAR MORATORIUM ON PLANS TO OUST GOLF PROS 

 

An advisory golf subcommittee voted unanimously Thursday evening to recommend to the Madison Parks Commission that it should place a one-year moratorium on any plans by the city's Parks Department to remove the golf professionals who operate the city's four golf courses.

Downtown residents and community members met at a neighborhood meeting Thursday to discuss two proposed student-oriented apartment buildings on North Bassett Street and North Frances Street.

COUNCIL APPROVES DOWNTOWN DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS

 

Two major Downtown development projects gained unanimous City Council approval late tonight, paving the way for hundreds of new apartments, new offices for the Madison Fire Department, and a completed Capitol West redevelopment.

EDGEWATER SEEKS FEDERAL BOND FUNDING 

 

Edgewater Hotel developers applied Tuesday to use low-cost federal funds to finance the construction and renovation of the hotel. Developer Robert Dunn and the Edgewater Hotel Company, LLC have submitted an application with the Public Finance Authority to use $66.15 million in Midwest Disaster Area bonds, according to a letter from City Attorney Michael May.

 DEVELOPER'S FINANCING OF EDGEWATER PROJECT SATISFACTORY, CITY SAYS 

 

Madison has found developer Robert Dunn's proof of financing and construction services agreement to be satisfactory, meaning the $98 million redevelopment of The Edgewater hotel will proceed, city Planning, Community and Economic Development director Steve Cover said.

DOWNTOWN OCONOMOWOC 60-UNIT APARTMENT PLAN SHARED  

 

Officials are hailing the downtown Worthington Apartments as a precedent in today's economy and development in the area,maybe even the state. Officials shared specifics of the project Tuesday. They include a six-level building with five levels above ground. The building will stand 60 feet tall at its peak on Wisconsin Avenue.

WYNDHAM HOTEL TO BE SOLD, REDEVELOPED INTO NEW USE 

 

The Wyndham Milwaukee Airport Hotel, scheduled to close around Dec. 22, is being sold to an investor with redevelopment plans. That's according to Crescent Hotels & Resorts, the Fairfax, Va.-based firm appointed by a judge to manage the Wyndham. The hote, 4747 S. Howell Ave.,l was acquired in September by its lender, Wachovia Bank Commercial Mortgage Trust, following a foreclosure auction.

ISB BANK TAKES OVER BOB LANG PROPERTY AT HIGHWAY C AND I-94 

 

Representatives of ISB Community Bank have told city officials that they have some ideas about how to develop nearly 50 acres on the southeast corner of Highway C and I-94 that the bank has acquired from developer Bob Lang.

A Walker's Point building that once housed a Milwaukee clothing maker is being converted into 50 apartments. An investment group led by developers Kyle Strigenz and Tyler Hawley is developing Junior House Lofts within the three-story building, at 710 S. 3rd St.

 MAYFAIR COLLECTION FINANCING PLAN HAS FIRST HEARING ON THURSDAY 

 

A proposal for the city of Wauwatosa to help finance The Mayfair Collection shopping center will have its first public hearing on Thursday. The plan will be reviewed the Community Development Authority, with the meeting to begin at noon. The plan will also need Common Council approval, with the council to review the proposal later in November.

APARTMENTS PROPOSED FOR FORMER DELAFIELD MOTEL SITE  

 

A former Delafield motel, now used as a 10-unit apartment building, would be razed and replaced with eight four-unit apartment buildings under a proposal to be considered by city officials. Jeff Stoll is proposing the project for the property at 940-1050 Indian Spring Drive, just  south of I-94 and east of Highway C. Stoll's conceptual proposal will have its initial review at the Wednesday Plan Commission meeting.

 Sales of existing homes have increased for 15 consecutive months, according to the Wisconsin Realtors Association. And the median sale price of existing homes in the state has increased slightly for seven straight months.
