I've been thinking about the Dessert Auction coming up next Saturday, March 19th. Yes, I hope we have another good turnout, and I hope that we raise a lot of money for the summer service trip. Yes, I hope people make more crazy, extravagant desserts. I hope you invite friends to share in a free pasta dinner at 6pm. And I hope the Silent Auction we are starting this year gives more people the chance to participate - by cooking and bidding on more simple desserts. But what I really hope... is that our church family sees this night as an opportunity to open their hearts to these new young people who have joined the youth group this year. Behind each one of these kids is a family that has watched this church become a 'home' on Sunday nights to their son or daughter. They need to know you and you need to know them. And if the auction is anything like it was last year, they will come away from the evening touched by the love that you give to each other, to the kids and to them.
See you on the 19th,
Rebecca
