First Edition
Let's Journey Together!

It's "BRING A ROCK TO CHURCH" Sunday!

One of my favorite memories of the years when my children were young is hiking in the White Mountains. Once you got above the treeline you'd come across these fantastical rock cairns... piles of rocks to mark the path that people have left for future hikers.

As we continue our exploration of "gifts of the Dark Wood," this Sunday we'll talk about why getting lost is so important to the spiritual path. As Henry David Thoreau said, ""Not until we are lost do we begin to understand ourselves."

When we're feeling lost, it can be a tremendous boost to come across a "cairn," a signpost in the wilderness left by a fellow traveler. Bring a rock Sunday on which we'll write words of encouragement and we'll build our own cairns.

(And don't forget to bring contributions for the Granby Food Pantry!)

Check out Don Shaw's Blog!

Inspired by "The Stonecatchers' Song of Sorrow" a chapter in Bryan Stevenson's book, Just Mercy, Don Shaw has created a blog to recognize stonecatchers, the people and organizations that catch the stones that are thrown at or placed in the path of the marginalized, vulnerable and victimized, which prevent them from realizing the recognition, respect, and rights a just world should afford everyone. Check it out.

It's "BRING A ROCK TO CHURCH" Sunday
upstairs in church & downstairs in the SchoolHouse
This Sunday in SchoolHouse we are talking about getting lost and how we find our way, what we learn from others, and what we can share with others as advice.
Faith Ed...
We meet this Wednesday after school - starting a new chapter on making faith personal, relevant when we are just trying to find  our way through life, school, & family.
"THE THINGS THAT UNITE US" Retreat was a turning point for our high school group.  We actually did find things that we had in common!  We learned to listen, to accept, and maybe to understand some of our differences.  Thank you to Scott Tracy, Laura Seger, Kyle Girard, Brendan Dutton, and Alexa Bishop for being our chaperones.  BIG THANKS to Doug Lampert for driving the Marquis Bus to Silver lake and back three times in one weekend!

Seeing past the surface. Looking for more in each other than we
previously have.
Stretching.  Listening. Sharing.
It's possible!
Sunday at 7 - PERSPECTIVE CONTINUES>>> and
on things we think we may see differently from our parents or peers.  Seeing past the surface.  Seeing from another angle.  Standing in a different place.  Widening our viewpoint.
DESSERT AUCTION PREP - super important this week and next.
